I'll easily ignore that and imagine my car being a 50th celebratory car :D (I have to for the amount I'm paying for it :D)

I'm really impressed with the level of response from Flat Rock. This is my recent email chain...enjoy!

This is the email I have just sent with her reply & my original email below it;

Hello Stephanie,

Thanks again for the prompt response. That would be amazing - I know the guys over here would really appreciate that! That’s absolutely fine with me.

I know some of my questions will be difficult to answer but I really appreciate your effort.

I think most of us over here have seen that particular video. A tantalising, small glimpse of the information we so desperately crave!

To add to my thoughts below - the vast majority of the UK customers have bought the Mustang without ever having sat in one, or even seen one in the flesh. I personally have dreamt of owning a Mustang for a long time & to be one of the first just adds to the whole specialness of ownership. We are just missing that appreciation from Ford I think.

Keep me posted!

Many thanks

Hi Kristian,
I appreciate the opportunity to help you and I’m sorry to hear that media coverage isn’t providing more information in the UK for Ford customers. In fact, I would like to forward your email to some communication employees at our World Headquarter, if you’d be alright with that? I want to make sure they are aware of this need and hope it can help our global communications team to strengthen the media coverage in the UK.

I will do my best to research answers to some of your questions, however I typically focus on internal communications for our plant and local media coverage. With that said, we had an Australian television crew in our plant earlier in August to film a news segment on the RHD. I’d be happy to share this with you, however it doesn’t focus on the UK sales. Feel free to share this clip, if you think others may find it of interest, as well.

Hi Stephanie,

Hope you are well…

I still don’t have my VIN but must be this month! What I was hoping you could do for me right now is share some more info on the RHD production.

The buying experience in the UK is bad to put it simply. We look to the US with jealous eyes because it’s so much more of a big deal over there with the hype in the media, the community following & just the whole enthusiasm for the car. We, in the UK, have the enthusiasm but the rest is missing & leaves us feeling a little dissapointed. The majority of our dealers have no interest in the car & Ford UK seems to have made such a minimal effort that I feel like I have just ordered another Ford car.

I can understand to a certain extent because the cars are selling themselves & Ford in the UK haven’t had to try an boost sales but as an early adopter & Mustang fanatic, I feel very underwhelmed by the whole buying experience - as do a lot of others.

What would mean the world to us & go a long way to changing the feeling we have towards Ford is some info on production & even some photos if it’s not too much trouble. I am sorry again for targeting you but as silly as it sounds, I have got more information from you than I could ever find online or get from my dealer in several months!

Any idea how many UK bound cars have been produced? what are the ETA’s for cars that have been built (I don’t know if mine will arrive in November or February at this point), I understand that the demand was higher than originally planned & you are now building more RHD cars than planned originally - does this mean you are building them quicker? As for photos, we scour the web every day & I can probably count on 1 hand the number of photos of RHD cars I have seen.

I appreciate that’s a lot but if there is anything you, or someone at Flat Rock can send over, we would be very grateful :)

All the best.

Kristian

Hi all, I ordered my Race Red v8 Gt on August the 4th 2015 and was told

that I will receive it in June 2016. I was also told that I

could add/change any options before I was allocated a VIN

Number which should take about a month from my deposit date.

So I should be hearing anytime soon? Yeah Right !! We shall see.

Welcome and congrats on your choice!

I ordered on the 22/2 and have not got a VIN, at least not that my dealer is telling me and I kinda trust him. I think there are earlier orders than mine in the same boat too.

Thanks Steve, My dealer is Essex Autogroup, Dunton ford link. I

have no previous contact with this store so it`s impossible

to gauge how good or bad they are , maybe some of the guys on here have

had dealings with them?

Pretty sure there are Dunton customers about! If you've been around the forum you'll be aware that the one thing that unites us is the dearth of information provided by our dealers. This general consistency suggests the issue lies further up the chain.

For all we know it could be that all orders will have their VINs before long. I'd certainly take that

So Ford continue to fuck me off!!!

Early deposit payers and UCL winners were said to be delivered first and yet I just read on another thread that someone (this is not aimed at them and good on them) is also getting their car delivered the same time as mine YET they paid a deposit in February!! If I had known that paying a "EARLY" deposit meant fuck all then I would have kept my money for another 4 months and get my car the same time!! Come on Ford sort your fucking shit out and stop screwing over your customers!!

Rant over but needed to vent!!

Tour of the plant? Easier (and cheaper) than going to Scotland for the NC500. :)
Well, you never know. I will drop a hint to my new gf & see what happens ha ha

TBH I don't really care about getting anything special I just want the dam car BUT it looks like FORD have decided "oh let's wait on shipping the RHD cars until more cars are built, even ones that have a deposit paid for only this year"!!

Seriously my car and others cars have been built since the start of August and yet we don't get our cars until mid November....3 months old by the time it turns up!!

Imagine if we could do what BMW offers and were allowed to fly to the Factory and collect our cars in person with the wrapping still on the seats.

bliss

I see where you are going...but then you would be in the States, with a RHD car and no shipping. Mmmmmmm; don't give Ford any ideas.
