I facebooked Ford, even copied a link to this thread.
They replied with
Unfortunately this is not something that we have the information on I am afraid. The dealership will be the first to be updated on any available information. We are however expecting vehicles to begin being delivered from December onwards.

Yeh, thanks Ford

I ordered 28/01/15, and I'm still waiting for an order number and build date. I'm sure I saw someone earlier in one of these threads who ordered in Feb and has a build date of the end of this month

Not me certainly. I ordered 22/2 and have an L00xx number and another number of #42x which i received some time ago. No VIN or blend date however.

Is it worth trying to set up a list with non-CL winner order dates and any build info?
The CL Winners are confusing stuff - we all know they have priority but it's difficult for normal punters to know where they stand when we are trying to compare our details with a CL winner.
If a non-CL winner who ordered in late Feb already has build info (don't know if anyone does) then why don't the Jan orders have the same info?
Could it be how Ford put the orders into the system? No real timeline priority just everyone in the first batch put in wily nily but as everyone is in the first batch it shouldn't matter what order they were put in?
If Ford can build 100 a week it will take 12 weeks for the first orders so finish end of October/1st week Nov - will they ship all at once or just in batches (as it appears) in Oct / Nov / Dec.
Or is this just paranoid ramblings and lets just sit back and chill? The car will arrive when it arrives??

Yeah, I think we all just need to chill, there's nothing we can do to make it happen any faster, all the anxiety will melt away when your car arrives!

My take on that would be that Ford allocated X number of the very first build slots for the CL winners, regardless of when those people actually confirmed they would definitely want one.

So if a CL winner officially "ordered" in say, February, there may have been a build slot already allocated to them which is why they may have a VIN/build number & non-CL winners that ordered before them in say, January, don't have that info.

Just guessing though.

What gets me - their capacity (I believe) is 800 cars per shift. They are currently building at most 35 RHD a day. Damn you Ford, damn you to hell! But yeah we need to chill...as frustrating as it's been, it's all added to the experience I guess - will look back on it & laugh one day :) still need to arrange these all important meets, could be the new year now

You should be able to get your order number from the dealer, people who order now can get an order number straight away. They are now ordered by the dealer on visit. Back in January forms had to be sent into ford and it's how quick your dealer was at filling them out and sending them over to where you ended up in the list. Champs league people did get the preference but even some of those aren't being built till September. Kick your dealer for it mate

I am not a CL winner, yet I will receive my car first, simply because I managed to get buy order #1 in their books. Unless Ford in your country decided to reshuffle the factory orders, I don't really believe there is a separate priority system going on.

PS: I don't have my car yet, but I have been contacted by Ford NL to check if I would be OK with a bit of an event surrounding getting the first.

It has been nearly 3 months since your car was built and you still don't have it?

There have been some issues with shipping :/ Rumor has it Ford went cheap on the shipping fare and GM outbid them, so less cars were shipped than initially planned. That said, they told me not to expect the car before late August (or more realistically, early September) already back in February when I signed the papers.

It's because they didn't get a undercoat at the plant to protect against salts on the road, protect against corrosion and had to have reworks some where to rectify it. That's why it has been delayed.. No one at ford will give you the straight real answer as normal.

I have to admit, I am starting to waver.

Delays, dodgy transmission (manual), body alignment issues, no one knowing what they have actually ordered, Ford either not knowing or witholding information, forgetting to corrosion proof the cars so getting someone at the docks to spray the undersides, lots of US stuff missing on the export cars etc etc

Spent the evening looking at SN95s on eBay, thinking how much money I could save and still have a fun car. Even tempted by the more expensive 60s cars.

A Classic Mustang, nice idea but will be a money pit.
Ford should have done this better, and you will always find complaints on a Forum, Body alignment hopefully has been rectified but I guess I won't know until I see mine lol.The transmission issues, I don't know, some report noises and thuds, others nothing, the same with the squeeky brakes. At the end of the day I'm comitted now and if after 6 months I can't live with my dream mustang I will take the loss and trade it in for something else!

No, no and no. Read the posts from the euro guys who have got them delivered. Think how you felt when you sat in that one at Bill Shepherd. No one normal has broken a transmission so far as I know. RHD vs LHD? Your S95 and S197 weren't corrosion proofed at all (nor are US cars) so that's a bonus. Above all, don't think too hard about it at 1.22 am (late night post syndrome) :)
