I'm trying to check the oil and I can't open the #%^#| hood! Yeah, I read the manual. I pulled the latch down by my left foot, and the hood popped up about an inch. Stuck my hand in to move the secondary level to the left, and the only thing I can find is a single vertical bar that simply won't budge! I am sooooo frystrated right now! Am I doing something wrong? Is there some sort of trick involved? :frusty::headbonk:

YOu can't lift the hood but an inch up to get your hand in there, if you push the hood up that inch as far as it'll go, you'll put enough tension on the latch it wont budge.

Turn your hand to face down. There is a little yellow lever.
Got it! Thank you SO freaking much! :hail: Now why in the heck couldn't Ford have put that simple little statement in the manual??

Had the same thing happen the first time I opened it, guess all my other cars have had the latches that stick up a bit more.

Don't feel bad, ever watch Mecum car auctions on TV, the woman who goes around and lifts open the hoods and opens the doors on the cars can only get about 50% of the hoods open, sometimes she has to ask for help, lol.

Yeah, palm down, who would have though. I'm hoping I'm past the learning curve.

Now that you've got the hood open, time to get on that supercharger install. It isn't gonna install itself now

Some people have a knack for opening any car hood without looking.

I rather just kneel down and look for the latch so I don't spend five minutes trying to feel for it.

I was more shocked after I did manage to open the hood and noticed it was still rocking a prop rod.

Screw that prop rod, fold that baby back and lay it on he windshield. (No
clue if that would even work like it does on my Jeep)

I miss the clamshell hoods.
