How often does the JLT need to be checked (to see if it is full) and/or emptied? What happens if it gets full??
Every car is different, but you should check it about every 1000 miles.
If it fills up it just lets oil through as if you had no separator on it.

...and just 1 last question....Since upon emptying the JLT - and perhaps emptying a few times over the course of an oil change period....do I need to watch the overall oil level in the car? - and possible add oil ?

You should always keep an eye on the oil level, but the 1-2 oz the separator collects in 3000 miles isn't reason to add any.

Yeah any oil in the separator would have been burned if it made it a few more inches down the line.

I have a question. I pulled my JLT out of my 08 and want to put it on the 15. What side are you all putting these on? Seems like everyone got them on the passenger side now. Why is that?
