I've searched the forum but haven't seen anything so I thought I'd ask. When cold or under any load I'm carrying about 100-125 psi oil pressure. When at temperature and stopped for a moment it will drop to around 30 psi. My previous 350 didn't drop that low and it seems on the low side to me. Thoughts or opinions? On another note my tranny temp is much lower than the DCT in my son's GTR. I do kinda miss the 6 speed but the DCT is definitely quicker.

PS: I know, need to change my avatar

All my Rs do that. At idle, at temperature, the pressure is that low.

NipSC: I can't say I've leaned over far enough to see the exact pressure at idle but as a drill instructor of mine would say, "out of my "perphreal" vision," <grin> my eyes know about where the needle's red edge is and it's in the neighborhood of thirty as you described. 5W-50 is fairly viscous, too but since Tom echoed the same for the 350R motors, which I presume take the same oil, and since mine is similar, I don't think there's anything to be concerned about.

Heck, there were probably at least ten people on the Lubrication Engineering Team and they undoubtedly designed the pump to do what it does. Not a lot of stress on the crank at idle and the pressure comes up rapidly with even the slightest throttle bump.

Thanks for the responses, I wasn't extremely worried more curious what others were seeing. I have my dash display set to all Temps and pressures in the center so watching these is easy

I can say that it's refreshing that so far, this engine does not use a drop of oil. Whereas my 350 used at least a quart or more between oil changes. My oil pressure also runs between 25 and 30 when warm and idling.
