I was told by a tire salesman that the largest recommended front tire on a Mustang GT was a 275/35R19. Will 285s rub?

285's should fit without rubbing.

I have the SVE pp2 wheel package from LMR that comes with the Ohtsu 285/35/19 tires. They were great tires. Handled great. Ran the rears at 34psi and fronts around 36psi. Now have the Firestone Indy Trackhawks 275/35/19. The Ohtsu have a tread wear rating of 300AA while the Firestone is 340AA giving the Ohtsu a little sticker but wear faster than the Firestone.

Nope. I have 305's on the front with gt350 rims, 21 base gt. Plenty of room. Its all about the rim specs.
