Quick question... Where does this little pin connects to? (I can't find where. Which mean maybe we could use those 2 to make the custom harness...? (For people like me who doesn't have the gauges in the dashboard)

Look at the main wiring harness sitting under the fuse that plugs into the "brain". This harness has a female 2 pin connector.

Thanks I found out where it was supposed to be connected. It goes to the other harness which the purple plug goes to the brain unit.

Now I wonder if we really need to make a custom harness....

Might be able to pull the pins out of the harness coming from the purple plug, then plug those directly into the 58 pin harness. Might be a wire length issue.

I'm thinking of chopping the 2 wires and build my own pins...

That would definitely work. I came up with the same thought, but don't have any pins of my own to do it.

I just made a Harness when I found out I messed up. I made a female end instead of a male... :clap2::frusty:

I gave up on making my own tip :D. I found some but they were too short... Here's how I took off the pins from the harness. I just used a paper clip. (It might take you a little time but when you do this pretty often it's like a 2nd nature lol)

Nice, I tried using a dental pick and it just wasn't happening. Oh well, I'm never going to use that harness anyhow.

Played a little more and found my 64gb thumb drive full of music isn't recognized in the armrest USB port. Didn't try the front USB port and frankly don't want to have an unsightly USB stick sitting there. So that's a bummer. I do think this unit sounds better then stock.

Dental pick isn't thin and hard enough. So where do that green and white left over connects to...? I didn't find anything on the brain part... I'm just OCD for wiring sometimes lol. :D:headbonk:

I didn't get it either. I think he said it was probably an accident that they placed it in the box lol.

I think those other 2 wires are for if you had the PP gauges.

Ah OK, I thought I was missing the USB cord. The Moddiction unit had its own USB port that I used my 64gb thumb drive in. Maybe there's a limit to what the armrest port can handle.

Oh, I also noticed I do have the boot logo with a Mustang with Chinese. Lol, no big deal, I'll change it.

Oh you might be right! So for people like me that doesn't have the gauges it connect to nowhere... Right...? For the usb key it could the format of your key that's not compatible or you need to enable OTG. I don't know if OTG is already enabled by default...

Yeah, the other 2 wires dont go anywhere for us. The Tesla unit manufacturers provided us base model owners no way to hook up to get CANbus information. They could have made a harness doing this for us.

I dont know what OTG is?
