Had mine removed a few days ago. When I first drove out I thought is was too loud. Now I think it is awesome. No drone at all. So much adjustability it's great. Normal mode almost like stock. Driving on the streets with lower Rpms it sounds so much better. Used 409 stainless and installed heat shields with six clamps. Is muffler same in r as non r? Codes on mine are f1-8698-r. 10832h. 1 166 16

Chalk up another believer in deleting resonators. Needed more of that glorious sound, and by God does the resonator delete do just that. Would've just cost me $90 to do it, but I wanted the stock exhaust size of 2.75", so I had to get it myself and that bumped total job cost to $150.

I was gung ho on removing resonators until I did an autocross last Saturday. I blew over the noise limit. My stock exhaust did 94.5Db. The R must do 96-97 therefore banning it from a lot of events.

But I know how sweet it sounds in person. May do it anyway.

Yep. Ours was 93.

Heck isn't Laguna on a 90Db limit most days?

The last two runs I kept my car in sport with the exhaust in normal. At the slalom toward the end of the course we could go WOT, and being a large lot high powered cars were hitting 110kph+. My car was singing 7000 rpm and the meter was 50' perpendicular to that end section where cars are their loudest.

Went to Midas Saturday and got a quote for around 250 on the delete. Seems high, but I got a quote for 450 from a specialty shop. The Owner/Mechanic thought the delete would do nothing for sound unless it was baffled to start with and I remember reading that it is. I mentioned going SS, but he recommending using aluminized steel instead and they have 2.75.
Getting it done next Friday.

What do you guys think?

Keep calling around. I wouldn't pay over $200. I paid $140 and they used 2.5" stainless (not a big deal to me..)

I found a better place, but need to get my own 409 stainless. Where did you get yours? Did you use the current heat shield? Thanks.

Probably. The factory system is 409 stainless by the way. Welding together different grades of stainless is possible but a PITA. I would go 409 if the rest of your system is 409. Otherwise cut and clamp.
I found cheaper place at 200, but have to get my own SS. What is the best place to get 409? Thanks.

Stock exhaust is the shitty 409. Better is 304.

Thanks. I will go with the 304. I have seen many things on this thread as far as 2.5 and 3.0 for the piping. Which is the best since 2.75 is hard to find? I have read that 4 feet is enough. what is the best website to order from? Thank you.

I have a quote for $150, but they have not done a gt 350 before. Makes me nervous, even though it is basically just a weld job. Still on the fence.

Tried to do a poll...curious what the results would be...couldn't figure out how to do it!

Torn!

I can not believe that someone will not make a bolt on kit to do this. Or to replace the X pipe and do a resonator delete bolt on kit.
