Thanks boss doc. I'll check if they got the MGWs and let you know!
I was present while George filled in the management on what he has to offer as he and I attended the Track Attack about a month ago. They recognized the difference.

Keep in mind, the school tries hard to stay as OE as possible, save for wheels studs/lug nuts and a Watson cage with 4 point harnesses. They aren't using oil separators either. If the GT350's end up getting modified like the FR cars you drive on the second day I could definitely see them tapping MGW but that might be a couple of years.

Flying out to Utah tomorrow morning!! Words cannot describe how excited I am.

I will be sharing the experience with my dad, whom has had some track time in a skip-barber racing school as well as in a similar deal with Porsche when he bought a new 944 Turbo back in 1986. He raised a proper gearhead and this is just the perfect opportunity to give back to him.

This will be my first real experience driving on track and I will be soaking up every minute of instruction, criticism and seat time that I can get. The GT350 is everything I could have imagined and with how confidence inspiring this car is to drive on the street, I cannot wait to throw this baby around on a closed circuit.

^Nice! I'm flying out on Wed morning and eager to hit the track there while Hurricane Matthew bombards the southeast corridor with rain & wind gusts. Good timing... :D

Yes. We were instructed to stay in 3rd. You find yourself at redline near the end of the main straight away 105-110mph. I noticed the instructors did shift to 4th at the same point on the hot laps. Third was actually perfect for the entire track.
We drove the east course.

Man I can't wait! Got everything arranged and will be flying out a week from Saturday. We are going a day early so we have more time to check the place out. Never been to Utah before. Staying at the Hyatt, rented a small suv, I hate compact cars.

East course for me as well.

The instructors did state shift to 4th on the straight if you want to practice your heel toe downshifts. Did that a # of times and chirped the rear tires every so often. The voodoo likes a little more time on the gas to bring up the revs before letting out the clutch.

We finished a little after 5PM because they had to do track clean up in one of the sessions due to a 5.0 spilling oil at turn 5. It blew an oil line. And we did the West course. It's less technical and faster than East. So it was very fun. Glad we had beautiful weather all day. :)

I think this is a "must do" for anyone with a GT350... no matter if you have zero track experience or a lot. It's worth it.

Had a great time at the track attack on Monday the third. We ran on the West course. I really liked the track. I thought it was a lot of fun and not too difficult to learn.

Here's a dumb question. Any recommendation for shoes? Do I need to be looking for racing shoes as we will be learning heel toe shifting? Or are my my regular everyday shoes sufficient?

Thanks

It certainly helps to have something with a thin sole that allows you to really "feel" the pedals. Racing shoes are probably best in terms of that, but won't be very comfortable to wear the whole day. I'd say just stick with whatever shoes you're most comfortable driving hard with.

I am very interested in participating as well. It looks so fun! I recently purchased a 2017 GT350R. Does Ford send me info or an invite or do I need to inquire on my own?

Please advise.

Thanks,
Adam
