How can we check the OEM SW version?
And are there any updates?

I think that a few things, specially regarding shifts, could be improved and I was wondering if Fords has released any updated version.

I know that the Tune is a good solution, but I don't want to void my warranty.

Any thoughts?

Its very doubtful a tune will void your warranty. If youre super worried you can de tune it easy when you take it in

They can check to see if the PCM has been flashed. That said though you have nothing to worry about with Torrie's tune from Unleashed. Been running it for about 15-20000 miles now without issue.

WTF? A tune will MOST LIKELY void your warranty if they know about it.........you always want to put the vehicle back to the stock tune before bringing it in for anything and hope they have no reason to investigate further if there was something seriously wrong with the car

To check your SW version you need a scanning tool or tuning handheld device. Our MyCal can do that for you. We ensure that when we build you your custom tuning files that we update you to the latest version of your OE SW.

We have yet to have a dealership or manufacturer void a client's warranty due to tuning. Here are 2 links that you can go over that display your rights as the vehicle owner.

Have you had a "client" bring a car back to the dealer for a screwed up tranny or something seriously wrong with the engine? In those scenarios, they WILL use the tune as an excuse if they are aware of it, guaranteed. That being said, the will have to "prove" the tune caused the issue, which is pretty simple in legal terms of raising shift points (that are set from the factory where they are set to reduce stress), etc

Client to service dept: My tranny is making a hard thud all of a sudden, and there is a serious lag when going from reverse to drive. I put a tune on the car, changed shift points, etc
service dept: LOL, that will be $2300. Would you like to pay cash or credit card?

A tune will not void a bubbling dash claim, misaligned body panel, etc but if its mechanical its an entire different ball game

We do not tune o the ragged edge, so no. We have never failed a "client's" vehicle with our tuning. Nor would a prudent consumer bring their vehicle into the dealership with an aftermarket tune loaded onto the ECU. As nobody can "speak" to a tuned/locked ECU. We have several clients return their vehicles to their dealerships with issues, whether they be headed in for TSB or repair, without issue.

I was saying in general (such as the tranny having a legit problem that would have happened tuned or not), not saying your specific tuning would have caused it. So yea, I think we are saying the same thing which is a tuned vehicle, brought in on a stock tune, should have no warranty issues (unless they suspect it was tuned and see if it was flashed before). A tuned vehicle, brought in still tuned, for a mechanical warranty claim very well will most likely have warranty issues.

Its only a tune if the dealer knew it was there (otherwise its a factory car), so a tune will / can void certain aspects of the warranty

problem comes when something that was gonna fail regardless of tune fails and you have a tune even reverted back to start they can see it was flashed and now your screwed ill wait till my warranty is up no matter how hard it is

thats pretty much what i was saying. If someone brings in a car for a mechanical warranty issue and the car has an intake, exhaust, its lowered, they get it on the lift and see it has headers, etc etc ( obviously modded in a performance minded fashion) it does not take a genius to say "hmmmmm waiitttttt.....before we approve this $2k warranty claim, lets see if the PCM was flashed, odds are this car has been tuned"

So, to my initial question? In addition to check my SW version (OEM), does anyone know if Ford publishes somewhere new SW releases? And data?

If tunes are always made with last version... There should a way to get or at least find which is the last version and date.

I will also check with my dealership.

Only the dealership can check as you described.

They rarely post things like that but you can usually find it on the Ford Service website.

When you say cycle it a bunch of times, what does that mean exactly? Like load up the factory a bunch of times?
