Hello gentlemen, my mechanic says there is no power to my OBD2. He tried it when the car idling. Does the car absolutely need to be in accessory power mode? Is there a fuse we should check? If yes, which one and where is it located?
Thank you in advance.

While we all have our off days, if the mechanic hasn't checked to make sure the fuse for the OBD2 is good, find a new mechanic.

And yes, a scanner won't be able to do much of anything if the ignition is not in run mode. Engine doesn't have to be running.

No tune. It cost a few bucks but he fixed it. I don’t know what he did.

I'm calling up images of the old trick of squirting oil on a shock absorber and selling new ones.

Yes , but unfortunately I didn’t ask.
Oh man... I have this issue on my 2017 now, too. Wish you'd found out! I've replaced a fuse and no luck. Still trying.
