NOS N2O different questions

If a human was within 24" of a direct purged spray of NOS would any physical harm be done to that person? Is it super cold ? Eye damage? Etc..

I’d definitely think the eyes could sustain some damage. I think the vapor could easily make 24” with a bottle at pressure. Skin, probably ok. Probably cold but not damaging at that range with a quick blast.

Thankfully I never blasted myself when I used to run it on my old GT. I never installed a purge kit so I would purge it manually at the solenoid sometimes or purge to bleed off the pressure and have got a quick nip on the fingers. It’s super cold and prolonged exposure could definitely hurt.

Been researching since posting thread, not a lot of information out there. I didn't realize the medical version was used through out history as a recreational drug, and two brothers basically figured out how to used medically. Can you imagine having a limb cut off using alcohol as pain killer?
I'm researching the thought of using as a self defense against robbery or car jacking.
With the mini bottles available it would be easy to nozzle your car at drivers window.
It would be a lot safer than a gun, especially for my wife

Yeah, it's also known as laughing gas. I vaguely remember a movie with a couple of dumb guys driving a car with nitrous that leaked, and they were acting stupid drunk cruising down the highway at 10 mph. Anybody remember what movie that was?

Black Sheep with David Spade and Chris Farley. GREAT movie if like slapstick / silly / juvenile humor (this and even more so, Tommy Boy, with both of the same actors, which is one of our all time favorite and most quoted movies).

Correct.

Automotive grade nitrous has sulfur dioxide as an additive to discourage human consumption. It acts as an irritant to the nose throat and lungs and can cause permanent damage.
