Was putting on my hood struts today and noticed this lovely surprise.... a crack in the paint. The car has 900 miles, I've yet to wash it either since the first hose down when I brought it home. Looks like I'll be dropping by the dealer.

Suppose to be a really nice day this upcoming Sunday, who's going to Cars and Coffee in Dulles?

So took my car to sheehy ford in springfield on Monday to have them look at the crack on my hood. After nearly 40 minutes someone comes out and takes a pic with his phone and tell me to go on my way. they submitted a pic to ford and ford is basically saying it looks like it could be flex and there's nothing they can do about it... (Wtf does that mean).

The car is brand new at 917 Miles, I didn't even get to wash it once! The dealer was less than enthusiastic about even dealing with me and kept answering everything with a "well that's all we can do". So I take it upon myself and give a call to ford, the rep was floored and said that they had multiple routes but they would need the dealer to submit an appeal first before running down the list. The Ford rep puts me on hold and calls sheehy herself and after 5 mins takes me off hold and says that the advisor she spoke with seemed very poorly informed and informed me that I'd need to get ahold of sheehy and have them submit the appeal. So I get off the phone with ford and call sheehy and they basically refused to do anything without any reason just stating ford rejected the first request and that I should deal with koons!

So I call koons and stop by this morning before work and they were surprised that sheehy refused to and took it in the back had their tech look at it and snapped several high res pics and submitted the appeal. They called me and scheduled a visit tomorow with the shop foreman per ford's request. The rep said there is no reason this should be happening and especially at such a low mileage. The car is 100% stock, so far it hasn't been a good start with ford and sheehy. Hopefully koons can come through.

Sheehy service manager called me about an hour ago and literally just repeated everything I knew and said if it was an oil change or engine light they'd be able to help me but paint and leather seats, steering wheel, and interior i should look elsewhere lol. I dealt with sheehy subaru for the past 3 years and I'm not sure if this is a reflection on sheehy or ford vs subaru but sheehy ford is absolutely useless it seems!

For what it's worth, I've had a pretty good experience with Koons Ford in Sterling. I don't get my car serviced there, but they have always been "shenanigans free".

Good luck!

Thinking about it, as long as I get a chance to clean her up as she's been sitting for over a month now.
