Hey everyone, just got a CVF Street intercooler installed the other day. I took it to a shop that specializes in Mustangs, so I thought everything would be good to go. However, I noticed that there is a sound that wasn't there before, it sounds kind of like more air sucking in when boost hits. I'm not sure if this is a boost leak, or if it has something to do with the active grill shutters being removed. Has anyone dealt with this before? Should I be concerned?

if you have boost leak you’ll have less psi boosting.
Shutters won’t change any sucking noise.
Either you got a new intake or filter

or, charge pipe is leaking at one of connections.
That’s my guess.

When I swapped my stock intercooler with a Mishimoto intercooler, I left the grill shutters in. In my state it hardly ever get below freezing! As for the sound your hearing could be a leak from a loose clamp, did you notice if your down on boost numbers?

It gets up to 19-20 PSI still. I notice the sounds occurs while accelerating up until around 3000 RPM.

Do you hear it while driving or only in boost? Like, cruising? 0 boost, hearing sucking.

sucking is either intake, or charge pipe loose. No other way around it.

wish I could help. Does it stay at 20? Feel like it’s struggling to maintain? Longer than usual to get there

It makes the sound right before boost then it sounds like it sucks in and closes around 10 PSI. I just came up the mountain and it feels the same. I haven't really pushed it hard where it stays at 20 PSI though.

I just want to make sure nothing is going to be damage since I won't be able to make it to my shop for a few days.
