Probably because majority of the people driving these aren't real enthusiasts like the people here. They just drive it like any other regular car.

I get headlights when there coming from opposite direction or if in traffic I'll get a rev from them sometimes.

I wave at all I see. Most look at me strange. It isn't like the Jeep or motorcycle folks.

I get more waves from other convertibles no matter the make.

I throw a piece sign occasionally but only at nice ones. Do the same thing to Cam eeer ohs too. Had one guy flip me off so I blew him a kiss. Dodge guys seem mostly oblivious. Still cracks me up that the only people that want to race away at lights are SUV's and Hondas. I let them have it 99% of the time. I don't usually have anyplace I need to be. I go to Mexico for me, not anyone else.

You're less likely to get a friendly nod from the majority of owners because they're not enthusiasts and all they see is another mustang.

However, owners of the higher trims of most vehicles and those who have installed mods typically will. I get them all the time around here and more so when I do a remote start in the parking lot because people can't believe that sound is coming from a 4 cylinder.

How true! Dudes in minivans tailgate me all the time like I am driving slow.

BTW, I love blowing kisses at male drivers that are road raging. Cracks me up!

When I had my Camaro, there were a small number of Camaro owners, including some Corvette owners, that would wave. Again, a small number of us, compared to the amount of Mustangs, Chargers, and Challengers I see on a daily basis.

That's my basic response. Because of a lot of tourism in my area, most mustangs (especially verts) are rentals and they have other things on their mind than waving at a stranger.
Maybe I'm a bit of a snob, but the "head nod" or recognition is given to those who obviously own their car. But always respond when recognition is given to you, regardless of the other ride.

It’s a little different in the U.K. as these cars are reasonably rare - they get a warm reception from pretty much anyone (at least in my limited experience to date). All ages, both sex’s - it doesn’t seem to matter, even bikers have been giving me appreciation

It’s defo a different experience to what I got when I had the M3 ... lol
