Ok A couple days ago my car would not unlock without pressing unlock on the key fob then once I got in it would not start till I put the key in the cup holder. It keeps popping up saying "No Key Detected". The key fob allows me to do everything even remote start just does not detect it in the car. Anyone know whats going on or could be the problem?

Sometimes when I get out of the car with it on, and then the horn beeps and No Key Detected shows on the screen, it will stay that way even when I get back in the car until I hit ok on the read out. If it does it consistently and you cant start the car, the fob may be bad, try your spare and let your dealer know.

I forgot to mention I have tried the other key fob and it does the same thing. I have hit Ok on it a few times and it just continues to come up.

If you can repeat it, schedule an appointment with your dealer and let them know.

I'd try a computer version of the "hard boot". Lock the car and walk away. Remove the batterys from the fob. Reinstall, go back to the car and see if it doesn't reset itself. It's worth a try and easy to do.

Next time you get her started, take it to the dealer. This sounds like a serious issue.

Hey tevol1,

As the others in the thread have suggested, I recommend contacting your local Ford Dealer to set up an appointment: FIND ONE HERE Once you do, PM your VIN, mileage, name, phone number, and dealer info. I'll look into options on my end to assist.

This is my 3rd Ford with "push button star".

"NO KEY DETECTED" will happen from time to time for no apparent reason. Just move the fob to closer to the center arm rest and it will be picked up. It's random, and never lasts longer than a few seconds.

Dont worry about it. All 3 cars have done this here and there.

I've noticed this problem when I have my key fob in the same pocket as my work phone (at&t, iPhone 4s) It never fails, if I forget and put my phone in the same pocket as my key, it won't unlock the door, and won't start the car. If I take it out, it seems to go back to normal after a few seconds (but not right away).

Doesn't happen with my personal phone (verizon, samsung s6).

My car has done something similar two days in a row now. Last night, when leaving work, I put my hand on the door handle and it wouldn't let me in. Lights would flash and doors made an unlock sound, but the doors remained locked. I'm guessing it was locking itself and flashing a warning or something, cause it took a dozen tries to get in. Then today on the way to work I get the message "No Key Detected", while I'm driving down the driveway. Then my wife calls 10 min later and I answer it using the touch screen and then it says missed call. I pull my phone out of my pocket to try to call her back and I can hear her yelling "hello" on the phone. So, it wasn't a missed call, but the car thought it was?
I'm pretty sure my phone and my car hate each other.

I'm wondering if a new battery for the FOB may help?
