I wanted to put together something that didn't require me to permanently alter my car or affect the airbag deployment, but still give me good visual access to the nGauge. I ended up with this. It's modeled and printed to accommodate the nGauge without the adapter cup (oddly sized, 2" even). The attachment piece uses 2 sided tape to mount to the A-pillar. There's a relief for expansion in the back wall and a place to put a 10-24 nut/bolt for retention. Worked out perfectly, with even a nice canted angle for better viewing from the driver seat. Files are here for anybody who wants to duplicate it.

You could put it in the AC vent in the center stack, that's not a permanent change.
I could, but I already have a boost gauge in the driver side vent and I didn’t want to lose flow out of another one. Besides, that’s not exactly in line-of-sight when you’re rowing gears.

I personally made a mount that mounts above the center vents, I live in AZ and refuse to lose any vents

I think a new pillar cover from tasca ford parts is like $50.
Or you could just put a plastic plug in the hole if you didn't like it
