I have a 2017 Race Red GT350 with 4,800 miles and I’m the 3rd owner. I check the oil once a month and so far it’s not using any. I don’t track the car just a weekend driver. I did get the oasis report which was helpful. If you want one get one, if the engine issue is a concern I would stay away. It didn’t concern me, I love the car.

Well, my Daughter wrecked her car last Thursday, she hit a deer and messed it up pretty good so I am going to have to pass on the 350 for now. We don't know what is going to come out of this situation, so it's probably best I don't spend $50k right now.

That's what insurance is for! If totaled, give her your car and excuse to upgrade :-). Hope your daughter is okay (Only thing that matters). Me and my brothers have all totaled our first cars. My dad used to say its "When, not if"

Stupid deer committing suicide with no consideration of the car they are wrecking.

Yeah she is fine, walked away with only a headache. Heartbroken, but that's to be expected. She worked so hard to pay for that car herself. I doubt they will total it, maybe, but I doubt it. Just hard parts alone that I can price out and know it will need is about $8K not counting labor, paint and diagnostics. Not sure if it got into the motor or not but it did push the radiator back about 3-4" and busted a hole in it and broke the radiator support. Half of the car will have to be repainted as it got both doors when the hood flew all the way up and popped the windshield. Plus not sure what all else it will need once they get into it and start. But the car won't run and every sensor is going off on the dash.

I was going to give her my car and just buy the 350, but she don't want my car. She said if she can't have her car back she may not get back into a Mustang. But if she took mine she hates silver so she would wrap it matte black.

They didn't go off. Which was unbelievable to me but the more I thought about it I am kind of glad they didn't. It could have been a lot worse for my Daughter if they had.

Most important, glad your daughter is ok.

If you can get the hood open, check the frame in the engine bay that runs parallel to the fenders (there’s some welds there) and check the strut nuts to see if anything moved. If there’s any indication of movement (broken welds along the frame or paint rubbed off around the strut nuts) it will very likely be totaled.

That should be covered by the Comprehensive part of your insurance. Only have to pay that deductible.

Not unusual to hit a deer In Texas—my wife has hit two! Cost me $50 each time. Once was in her Lincoln LS: About $5K in damage. That aluminum hood was expensive.

Oh yeah it is covered and we have $0 deductible for our comp coverage. Insurance will definitely take care of it, we are just waiting on an appraisal from the adjuster. They said I should get it today or tomorrow. We will have to wait and see from there. We live in the country where there are tons of deer this time of year, I guess that day just wasn't her day. It happens and I understand it could have been a lot worse. I am thankful she wasn't hit from behind when she slammed on the brakes to try not to hit the deer.

In my experiences they always find way more than what lies on the surface. Had a small engine fire in my cuda, that was freshly restored, and before I knew it, the estimate quickly approached 10k with no panels needing to be replaced. Your daughters car looks to be at least in the conversation of total loss. Most importantly good to hear your daughter is ok.

They did total her car. The readily seen damage estimate came to $12,750 but because the car wouldn't fire and stay running they were scared the motor was going to be an issue so they decided best to total it and write it off. She decided against my Mustang so I wasn't able to buy the GT350, but it's all good. I have had my '22 over a year and only have 4400 miles on it, so the GT350 probably wouldn't even get driven that much. Plus, I just paid mine off so no more debt. She is driving a new Lexus RC350 F Sport as she didn't want another Mustang if she couldn't have hers back.
