Yep, see my previous posts, the front USB gets power from the gray line being connected to the hub (and a dedicated power connector).

That's so funny, I was thinking the same thing, I like the idea of the two center console ports, but having that gimpy USB port might wind up bugging me too.

I'm _thinking_ if I wire power into mine, that'll make me feel better

Thats right! just download to usb and upgrade at home! make sure you choose the right download: sync 3 with nav or sync 3 with no nav

Just want to confirm (again) that the GJ7Z-19A387-B works perfectly. Yes, the front usb stops working. Someone said on here that the front usb still charges. Mine doesn't. But the two ports in my console work great.

I think I am going to order this: https://www.amazon.com/Metra-AX-USB...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=YXSTZKM2C8MKMRVWNCB6 This should allow me to plug in the cars front port to one of my center console usb ports, so I have the option of either combination. Just a warning, I'm not sure if this will work so I am not responsible if something goes wrong!

2016 GT premium with Navigation. Did the upgrade last night. After the installation finished the nav maps would not come up. Did a factory reset of settings and maps returned. Wanted to test android auto, but it did not seem to be working...I didnt have much time to play with it, but I'll dig into it today.

Same thing happened to me, just turn it off and on a couple of times then you should be fine, for the android auto pulg your phone through usb, then go to settings in sync choose android auto and follow the configurations.

Only USB. The first car to have wireless CarPlay is the 2017 BMW 5 series and hopefully the feature will make it to other cars in the future but I don't think that's something that can be added to older models.

After my first setup via USB, Android Auto now auto connects via Bluetooth on my car.

I am excited that Ford has finally released this... but why would they produce a new USB port that disables the one on the dash? Seems rather stupid.
