It does say "at the Ford Performance booth", though...

Ford and Shelby both have their own booths at these types of events.
Correct. And the Ford GT, Shelby GT350/R, Raptor and Focus are all listed on the Ford Performance Page. I think new GT500 is no brainer. I think they are going through Shelby America to up the suspend n make it less obvious. There have already been reports that the press was shown the car in Detroit yesterday but swore to secrecy till released!

A GT500KR makes the most sense considering the hashtags, and even more so looking outside the box, with Ford and their customers wanting/needing something to compete with the Hellcat and ZL1. It would obviously be a 2018 model.

There really isn't another 50 year car that even fits into this all.

Here is the issue --if it IS a GT500KR, we all better hope and pray it is built by Ford, and SA just has the honors of unveiling it. If it is another bolt-on GTE play built by SA, it has already failed.

Considering it's at the Ford Performance booth, you could be correct?

Yawn, another high price trim level that will plummet in value and few people will actually own. Can we just see the normal 2018 Mustang?

It has to be, right?

I mean, we have had all of these mules running around for the last year that we know are more than GT's, the timeline is aligned with the supposed embargo, etc. Additionally, I just don't believe Ford would allow a Hellcat/ZL1 competitor built by SA with their recent track record. If any Mustang is built to compete with those two, it WILL be an all Ford vehicle.

It seems the shoe fits... IF it is a KR -- which seems the only likely possibility.

What Shelby's have plummeted in value, specifically the GT500's?

I am sooooooooo excited.....

Yawn. Shelby America has my respect only just barely above that of Hennesey...

About the only thing I care about are their legacy cars like the A/C Cobras and Daytonas. But then I hate them for the bullshit they did to the kit car guys back during the 90s into 2000's.

As for what they do to mustangs these days. It is disgusting. I am kinda ashamed Ford put the Shelby name on their performance offerings. Wish they would just drop it and return to an SVT type badge and the Cobra/Bullit/Mach/Boss name plates.

Not to get off the subject but are Callaway builds any good?,.. watched Motorweek yesterday and they were impressed with what they did with a Z06, think it had 757hp.

Ford's Shelby Mustangs have held their values very well.

Shelby America's Mustangs have not held their values very well.

because the vin's are ecoboost's and gt's. nothing but aftermarket parts on a normal vin then stamped with a name and upcharge 20k.

Exactly. There is nothing unique about them at all. But you have people that are clueless about everything.

There was a woman I saw at a gas station with a comp orange ecoboost and she was like "and it's a rare one because it's a 50th anniversary" and I didn't have the heart to tell her that she basically had an add on option that anyone could get that year. No clue what the dealer probably told her, up-charged her.

from their facebook post...
#50years
#SnakeBit
#TheLegendReborn....

Shelby reborn - 50 years = 1967... what happened that year... GT500.
SnakeBite = Shelby Cobra logo on the car

So its got to be Shelby GT500... 1967 + 50 = 2017 GT500.

Ford will announce their Ford produced GT500, and Shelby will announce their GT500KR edition.
