Well, I did some research last night and went to drive to work today while the snow was packed-on and it's impossible to get ANY traction.
I'm sold on winter tires and dedicated wheels.
What does everyone thing is a good size wheel/tire combo?
Will 18in wheels with a 40 profile tire work since I have 20in with a 35 profile on now?
Thanks again, I really need to order something tomorrow!
Thanks for the kind words, but which didn't happen? The terrifying drive in the snow, or the car purchase?Nice and welcome! But as is commonly said, without pictures this did not happen. Yes A/S will be much better in the snow. Love the DIB, it is gorgeous!

Ha ha, either way I was only kidding, but pics are always welcome! Thanks for the kind words, but which didn't happen? The terrifying drive in the snow, or the car purchase?
If it's the car, pics will be up when I get back from work, they'll be iPhone pics but I'll include the original vehicle sticker so that will hopefully be proof enough.

Congrats! We have the exact same setup: M/T EcoBoost Premium in Deep Impact Blue with the 20" wheels. Oddly, I actually have Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on my wheels. They've been pretty good in the snow so far. Luckily, my dealer ordered and installed those tires at no cost and kept the Pirellis the car came with from the factory.Hi all, I just bought a Deep Impact Blue EB Mustang yesterday.
I just came back from my first drive in the snow and holy shit that was scary. I got the 20" Foundry wheels with summer tires and there's no traction what so ever.
I barely got out of a Walgreens parking lot, and I know that it's only gonna get worse.
My question is this: Will all season performance tires like the Continental ExtremeContact DWS help at all?
Thanks very much, and happy to be here!![]()

Sweet, I was actually going in just to test-drive one; thinking, I'll look at some of the colors and see if something hits out at me. I was kinda into magnetic but it didn't look that good in person I felt.Congrats! We have the exact same setup: M/T EcoBoost Premium in Deep Impact Blue with the 20" wheels. LOL, it's a black cap so can't see it, but it's there.Make 'em give you a cap for that valve stem.. ;-)

Not a bad choice for where I live either; some snow but inches instead of feet, big short term temperature swings in winter & spring, and an occasional urge to drive south for a weeks vacation in winter.Uh no...if you live in an effin rain forest that is wet as balls all winter and it barely snows but occasionally freezes and is consistently below 40, all season tires make a ton of sense. Winter tires do not.
Thanks, I love it too!Nice man! Congrats and awesome choice of color! ;)
They're clean and wrapped in TireRack's tire totes in my closet, but I can't wait to throw them back on the car in April.Great taste in wheel style![]()

I don't assume it's customary that a dealer would order and swap out the summers for winters at no cost, is it? It's a great service if they do, but what then do they do with the spare summers? Swap again? They're not in the tire business. Alternatively, if you want to keep the summers , is it customary for a dealer to install winter or a/s tires you purchase prior to delivery?Congrats!
