Good morning. Just nabbed a one owner 2016 GT350 with less than 6000 miles (track pack). Dude/dudette even kept the welcome kit that Ford sent 350 buyers with the ceremonial engine piece and certificate. Love buying from collectors. Purchased as is from a non-Ford dealer so I’m looking to see what my options are for a warranty. Is Ford an option or am I relegated to a third party?

I've got the same thing except tech pack. Bought it from a guy with 340 miles on it. Lombard Ford was the best price on the Ford ESP. I got a 4 year powertrain warranty for around 1600 or 1700.

Hope that help. Enjoy your new ride!

Talk to @Zach@Granger . They sell the Ford ESP at fantastic prices. If there’s anyone that can help you out, he can.

FWIW you may be too late to purchase the Ford ESP, it's only during a certain period of time that you're eligible for the extension. With the car now being almost 8 years old not sure if you can still.

Everyone suggesting ESP misses one fundamental point of it - that is starts with vehicle in service (not the date of warranty purchase) date. For 2016 car that was 7 (almost 8) years ago.

So if someone has 3 year car and purchases ESP for 5 years, it only really covers subsequent 2 years.

True but you buy a used car ESP, it starts from the date of purchase. I had one on my prior 2016 S550 and it started from the date I purchased the car & ESP. It was a Ford ESP as well

Have a quote with Lombard, confirmed in the contract the period of coverage starts as of 2023 and extends to 2029. This is my “fun” car so expect to drive less than 5000 a year in that span. Coverage baseline starts off my current mileage. Does require a third party inspection prior to coverage I’m sure to verify there aren’t any glaring pre-existing concerns. Feels weirdly similar to getting life insurance coverage.

Ive simply signed up mind you. Until I pay and get a confirmation of coverage I don’t consider it completed. Granger only goes back til 2020 like some of ya’ll mentioned.

Warranty search continues, got this from Lombard:

We received your online application for coverage on a 2016 Mustang.

Upon review we found that this is not a regular Mustang, as was selected, but it is a Mustang Shelby GT350 model.

Sorry, but we do not offer coverage for this model.

Anyone know of a good 3rd party option?

Try zeigler. I'm looking to purchase a warranty for my 2016 as well.

I went with Olive. $38/mo for $100 deductible and their most comprehensive package. Turns out the Ford warranty that both the seller and I believed to be transferable can only be transferred once. And that was completed when PO bought it off the first owner. Ford wanted $3k for another 2 yrs and I didn't feel like hammering the PO for $3k when Ford would be 'double dipping' per se (paying for warranty that was already paid for). So seller in my case ponied up cash for a year of Olive coverage. We'll see how it works out if I grenade a VooDoo....

Interesting, I got a warranty from Lombard for my 2017 GT350 earlier this year.

Must be nice. I did call the number for

Jack Guisti, Jr.

Ford Protect Internet ESP Dept.

Lombard Ford, Inc.

866-379-7095

….but his response was the same. We don’t cover GT350s or 350R’s. Either he doesn’t like me, was having a bad day, or you got lucky. Either way as he’s the gatekeeper, back to the drawing board. Trying Zeigler Auto Group as someone else suggested
