Bought a new hood from Anderson Components. The quality is outstanding. Looking to extract some air from underneath the car

Thatā€™s beautiful. Iā€™ve been researching best way to reduce the temps under hood. Iā€™ve looked that hood. Iā€™m in the Houston area and heat is incessant as well as humidity. Iā€™ve seen temps climb to 289*. Let us know how much your temps drop. Do you have any expectation on how much they ā€˜should/would/couldā€™ drop???

i thought on fiberglass and CF hoods you couldnt run the latch and needed pins. Also, would the gas shocks work on these hoods? Would love to get a CF hood on my GT because i just do not care for the factory hood.

Both Verus Engineering and Phoenix CF Design offer carbon fiber GT500 style vents for your stock hood.
I've seen the Verus Engineering one, but I would like to have it fully functional.

Their GT350 carbon vent is fully functional. Just have to get the body saw out. I went with an alternate more aggressive option literally weeks before either Phoenix or Verus made theirs available.

Congrats on that AC GT5 GT500-style CF HOOD Tim! Really a thing of beauty isn't it? Functional item that will surely help extract hot air. I got one but yet to install. Look forward to seeing yours on that beautiful R.

you can run the latch and you have to have pins. They do not recommend gas struts

You don't have to have pins. They recommend it because that is their way to cover them from incidents.

The Verus vent looks great, but it's stick on. Adhesive only. I don't really have an issue with that; if done right, it's not coming off. But have seen some peeps complain...whatever. That Phoenix one looks like a similar fit but looks like some screw/rivet holes on that one. Haven't seen it installed.

What I wish is that someone would make a really good, close to exact replica of the GT4 hood, or even some aftermarket installed vents only (preferably in carbon). The Trackspec vents are cool, and are close, but not exact.
