All the ding dongs from New York & Jersey are moving there and taking their liberal bullshit with them.
Yep, and then they vote for the same things they're fleeing from, turning their new homes into clones of their old ones. 🙄

My opinion: yes the headlights blind you, yes the drivers don't give a crap and think it's funny. My thoughts and fears when ever I see them lined up in parking lots with there whip antennas with multiple tennis balls and stuffed toy teddy bears.

The bumper height is in my face. Should I get t-boned I'm a goner. If I get rear ended the truck will ride over my trunk, etc...
My point is this is a safety issue.

Just echoing the fact it targets the Carolina Squat, which by far is the inbred result of bored country kids trying to outdo each other with how ridiculous you can make your truck look.

I remember when this crap started happening (I grew up around ground zero) and it was more shameful than the mass use of neons and a fart cannon in the import scene. Except, it is actually dangerous from a safety perspective.

Vision is minimized. Your line of sight is up, not out. The more the squat the worse it gets. This also ties in to where the headlights are aimed.

Suspension geometry is totally out of whack. There are ways to address this, but trust me when I say there’s plenty of trucks running around on totally shot front suspension due to the extra wear. This compromises braking and handling. If you’ve ever seen one of these trucks going down the road and hit a pothole or dip, the results can be pretty hair-raising. The whole truck bucks or sways.

As mentioned, bumper height. Some of this ends up being head height or higher for passenger cars. No bueno when you get smashed because squatted moron couldn’t see you on the road. The moron behind the wheel doesn’t care about your safety.

This shoves all the oil to the back of the oil pan and with enough lean can starve the engine of oil. Front driveshaft angles are jacked, so many of these guys just yank the front shaft and become the proud owner of a 2wd truck.

Unfortunately this crowd is too dedicated to have common sense and now it’s to the point the state is taking action. While on one hand it truly concerns me that govt is getting further into what you can and can’t do, it’s literally the result of people not listening and having common sense.

The same reason states are getting and going to get super tough about car meets due to all the “takeover” and slide show bafoonery that’s taking place. Shutting down public roads and causing complete chaos doesn’t resonate too well with law enforcement, the public and with the community of car enthusiasts whose IQ has more than 1 digit.

@Red65 , @SpeedLu , @IceAge , @bluebeastsrt , @80FoxCoupe Thank you all for commenting on a situation you know absolutely nothing about. I believe that you would change your tune if this was sitting on your back bumper (or in your trunk). First time one of these came up behind me it scared to crap out of me. Hopefully they pass this bill in SC as well. Beyond dangerous and just plain stupid.

The sad thing is, that’s “extreme” but common. It’s like if they could figure out a way to drive vertical, they would.

I know you see it all the time there. For a real spectical, take a trip to Conway.. or better yet Aynor LOL.

We have tone of them around here. I’ve had more problems with just straight 8+ inch lifted trucks than these. The squat is definitely not my thing, I think it’s straight ugly. IMO trucks should be able to do truck things. That’s why my shop truck is sitting at stock height with a flat bed. My issue with the bill is how they are measuring and determining what is illegal and what isn’t. Where are they measuring from? If it’s from the bumper, I know many trucks that come from the factory with the front and rear bumpers at different heights from the ground when the truck is perfectly level. So automatically some trucks will have more leeway than others. If they want to make a bill to get rid of squat trucks due to safety concerns that’s all fine, but they need to have a more solid way of measuring it (IE measured headlight angle)

I think you misunderstood. That abomination is not mine. Trucks like this are dangerous. People have been killed because these idiots cannot see where they are going. I’m all for modifying you vehicles so long as it’s in a safe manner.

The truck he posted belongs to a famous YouTuber, whistlindiesel, who proceeded to destroy that truck with his bare hands lol.
