May be old news to most, but I just read about it in HRM - a new pushrod 7.3L V8 from Ford!!! It should make a thousand HP with a blower!!! Only planned for trucks at this point, but if it makes it into a new Mustang, I'll be happy!!!

BTW - almost 700 miles on the clock of my S550. I'm getting 11 MPG running around town. Got pulled over for doing burnouts behind the grocery store! hehe :like:

Yeah, like 6 months old. There is even a potential swap thread somewhere here.

That thread was beat to death,, Same problems now as then,, the 7.3L is a low revving truck engine, peak power will likely be 5500rpm just like the 6.2, there were very few 6.2l swaps in the old S197 chassis due to it's size and zero aftermarket support so everything would need to be custom made.

It's not a big block. It's a big inch small block.
peak power is 5500 and torque is at 4000, but I'd bet that's a by product of the cam and not anything else.

And the long runner intake manifold. The 7.3 (445 c.i.) is a torque monster from the factory, its rated at 430 hp and 475 tq right out of the box.

I've said before, if they destroke it down to a 429, cnc port the heads, give it more cam and an intake that will allow it to breathe beyond 5000 rpm, there is no reason they can't get around 600 hp N/A out of it.
