So did anyone actually take it to the dealer to diagnose? I have a 2015 manual and it just started (or got loud enough to be noticeable) at 47k miles. Does it when stationary, in motion, with clutch engaged, disengaged, in any gear.

So I took it to the dealership today and they diagnosed it as an idler pulley issue. They had to order parts, so I'll have the repair done next week sometime. Mine sounds exactly like the video in first post.

Mine sounds the same. Always questioned it, but it seems most people say it’s normal. Although my vehicle is at the Ford Service Center for the check engine light being on. But I don’t think it’s related to this.

This is a characteristic 10r80 sound. The gear whine from the off axis pump is identical to the sound on other models with the 10r80. We have a 2018 Expedition in the family and if it wasnt for the exhaust, I'd think it was my Mustang idling in the driveway.

I just got a brand new 2019 GT California Special (10-speed-automatic) a few days ago and I also hear this same noise.. which is how I ended up on this page. The noise made me feel uneasy but I also thought maybe something to do with it being new I’m not sure but don’t really like it lol it takes away from the deep growl of the exhaust

I also just picked up my 2019 GT California Special 10 speed auto and I have a whole 134 miles on it and I hear the same noise. My 12 yr old son heard it and asked if the stang is broke. Lol.

My 2018 A10 does whine from stop-going, almost like a supercharger and i find its quite nice. People always look at my car it gets more attention

I know this is a few months old but thought I would post. I found this thread while searching for info on another (unrelated) noise my car is making. I've got a 2015 6 Speed aand it began making this noise around 65k miles. I watched and listened to the video and it sounds identical.

It didn't affect performance and has either gone away on its onw, or has been drowned out by my other (unrelated) noise.

There are (2) docs from Ford regarding the 10R80 “whine”:

1) The initial or earlier doc that came out stated any “whine” from the 10R80 was normal.
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...cent-tsb’s-in-here.102918/page-2#post-2822562

2) The most recent doc that was released states that if there is a whine with other symptoms, it’s not normal.
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...cent-tsb’s-in-here.102918/page-3#post-3081658

All of the 10R80 docs can be found here:
