New 2015 GT/PP

I recently traded in my 2012 GT/CS for a 2015 premium GT with performance pack. So far im loving the car, its leaps and bounds ahead of any mustang i've ever owned/driven. I love how balanced the car is as well as the overall refinement and quality. One thing i've noticed is, every review i've read for the GT with PP indicates the car has a staggered wheel/tire setup, with 9 inch wheels in the front, and 9.5 inches in the rear, and tires being 255/40 up front, and 275/40's in the rear. My car actually has 275/40's on all 4 corners. Does anyone else's car have this squared tire setup? Im also wondering if that means i likely have 9.5 inch wheels all around. Ive read on forums that ford has had some issues regarding how to option these cars in some cases (cars with redline package don't all come with red door cards, cars with PP and 50th ann. pack not all having 50th ann. grill, as well as a car reviewer noting that the car he drove and tested had a squared 275/40 setup as well). I've been lurking these forums for a bit prior to buying my 2015, and am glad to see how active it is. Just thought i'd riddle my first post with a question :ford:

Do the front tires appear to have any more bulge than the rears? If not you probably have the same width rims all the way around as well, but it's hard to say if they are all 9.5" or 9".

You can definitely put 275's on a 9" rim, I'm running it right now on my car.

It is however the max recommended.

The recommended wheel width for a 275 tire is 9" to 11". Didn't you post pictures of that, 275s on the 9" fronts? As I recall they looked just fine.

OP, you definitely got lucky. When you get the time, kindly take off front wheel, and look at what the sizing is.

There are numbers stamped on the backside of the spokes, that indicate the wheel diameter x wheel width.

I am very curious to know if your front wheels say 19x9 or 19x9.5.

Either way, you definitely got lucky, in that you got a square-setup of 275-width tires all around.

Curious, have you tested it yourself?

If so, this means that not only was it a mistake putting that rear wheel/tire assembly on the front, but it was also a mistake at the wheel/tire assembly station where tires get mounted.

It's been posted on the forum. The high offset puts the wheel too close to the strut.

It seems to me, that the most likely scenario is the dealer replacing the fronts for 275s for whatever reason. Still very cool, and I will be checking mine when it gets here next month.

I'm 99% sure it'll still be the 9" rim but you got lucky either way. Squared setups ftw.

Either way, what matters is the size of the rim..if it's still 19x9 & 19x9.5. You still can't rotate the tires because of the rims

The car was initially ordered for someone who works at the dealership, who ended up not going threw with the sale, so that is a possibility. I'll try and get around today to pulling off the wheels and I'll post some pics of my findings.

So I got around to taking off the wheels today,
I only pulled the driver side front and rear but I'm sure the passenger side is no different. Front is 19x9, rear is 19x9.5. So I suppose it's not a true squared setup after all. Guess my luck came to an end because on top of that, I discovered the front tire has a nail in the inner sidewall :\
