Need to replace the Magnaflow competition axle back.

THANKS - this is exactly what I want. i don't want to lose the volume, just the drone. Man this exhaust stuff is getting expensive, I need to make this the LAST change!

I jumped around with at least 5 setups.. It does get expensive! If you're REALLY hesitant, just do the touring but those will be a good bit quieter than S types.. even when on it.

Would love to assist with the purchase.. just give me a shout.

I guess you don't have active exhaust. Make sure if you ever do headers to have the Cats... I have to change my exhaust as well: I have magnaflow street, and I'm adding the active exhuast so it stays fairly tame

No active exhaust, I would have loved that option, but could not argue with the deal i got a few weeks ago on this brand new 2018 with 61 miles on it.

if it is optioned, look under it to see if you have the AE plug, you may have it and can install AE on the car mine has it

We would recommend removing the midpipe, as other users have mentioned, or trading out the setup for our Street catback system. The Competition is a fairly aggressive axleback and can get a little too loud when used with aftermarket midpipes, especially if they're catless. Hi Everyone,

I recently added the MRB H-Pipe and the MagnaFlow competition Axle back to my 2018 GT. I love it, it has the deepest sound of any other I have heard, but with the convertible, my wife says it is too loud at cruising speeds under a mild load inside the cabin. I am going to need to find a different deep tone axle back that will not be so "present" inside under a mild load. It really gets you between 1700 and 2000 rpm. It sounds PERFECT outside the car and under all other circumstances.

This was an expensive system of course but I need to replace it. I am leaning toward the Borla S Type but are not sure. I appreciate any thoughts. Sadly, I am not made of money, so this has to really count....

That’s my set up, Bigfoot. You have to have your guy, or yourself custom make the 2 short lengths of pipe in order to mate to the axle back.

JackolanternGT LOOKS GREAT! I just ordered it from CJ Pony. With my Pony points It was $260.00. A LOT cheaper than the Borlas i was going to use! I REALLY love the sound of the Magnaflow Competition, the ONLY thing was the drone. I realize this may quiet the exhaust note as well but that is worth it, I assume it still has a very good sound just no/less drone - PERFECT.

Funny thing. I have the new resonator x-pipe sitting in my trunk, but since I ordered it I have put about 500 miles on my Magnaflow Competition axle back with the MRB H-pipe and it is has gotten a fair bit mellower (the car now has 595 miles on it total). I did not expect it to change so much after use. I think I will send it back and keep what i have. It really is hard to beat this setup if you like the super deep muscle sound like I do....
