Looking for a very streetable tire for a Boosted Manual 17 Mustang GT putting down around 700 to the wheel. I was looking at Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S, Nitto NT05 Max, Nitto NT05R and Nitto 555R. It’s a strict street car with lots of roll racing and 1/2 mile events in the future and no drag strip. Thanks for any input!

Currently making 650-700 depending on wastgate. I’ve had great luck with the MT et street s/s 305/45/17. I have the Nitto NT05 315/35/20 and don’t get much traction out of those, but they are 20s so that def does not help. If I had to buy another set today it would be the MTs.

Nitto 555r first. I’ve also heard good things about toyo R888R. I’ve used the nitto 555r in the past. Better street tire than drag radial. I currently run the NTo5rs. It takes big balls to drive these in the rain.

I've run both mt et Street ss and 555r. Mt is a stickier tire but 555r will last longer and be better in the rain. What size tire are you looking at?

Great thanks! I was leaning 555R because it seems a tad more streetable and a bit better in rain. What kind of mileage are you seeing with the 555R?

This is no lab test by any means though it is coming from an unbiased stand point of view, but it may shed some light on your decision either way. I personally liked the compares for the most part. Beat having some lab test by the MFGR give a biased opinion. The comparison is between Toyo 888R's, MT ET Street SS, and finally Nitto 555R;s. I am pretty certain without watching again each tire is the same 20" rim diameter. tire height, and width. Based on the video I am going to save a buck twenty each and try the Nitto 555R 305-35-20 for my 630 RWHP setup.

305/45/17 MT SS if you want traction you get them of the 3.
