Well I went out today and pulled the drivers axle out waste of time it was the correct one, tried to hammer some more on the other didn’t go anywhere so I pulled it out, also pulled the clip and tried.

thought to myself why don’t I try my stock axle just to make sure it’s not an issue with the rear end. That thing went in like butter and locked in no hammering whatsoever. so while I thought it might of an issue with the rear it’s definitely is not and has to be the axle. I’m not pleased to say the least with the driveshaft shop.

Hey man I know it’s been a while but I just got some DSS 1400hp axles from a guy on Facebook and they were new. I am literally having the exact same issue. Swapped from a 3.73 to 3.31 and tried to put the dss half shaft in and it won’t go. Tried stock and slid right in. What did you end up doing? I’m not sure if I can contact dss since I picked these up from someone else even though they were new and are technically under warranty. Might have to message the guy and return them.

I had an issue with my DSS 2000s. They were slinging grease from the boots. I sent them to them for repair. When I got them back, I couldn’t get the passenger side in. Turns out they sent them back with 2 drivers side stubs. One stub should be longer on one axle. It goes in the drivers side. I’d make sure that’s not what’s happening to you

Yeah I checked and had each one next to the stock and they were the same length. Used a caliper and looks like the thickness is just a hair larger but I mean I tried using a mallet to get it in and it just wouldn’t go all the way in. Thank you for the response tho.

Having the same issues. Verified that it’s not the wrong side in there. Anyone have a solution?

Is it the 1400hp axle? I got in contact with dss and they told me they had a small batch that was a little too large. I removed the stub that goes into the diff and sent it to them. They sandblasted it to spec for free and it fit fine after. Hope that helps. I’d definitely try calling. Took my brother a few days of trying to get the right person on the phone but they made it right.

That sucks! You may have to send entire axle back. I was also able to send just the stub, but you have the new style w/o bolts. Bryson is the guy at DSS you’ll want to talk to. I’m sure he’ll get ya straight. It’s just a PIA to have to deal with it!

I know this doesn’t help much guys but dss seems to have alotta issues with their stuff. When i was in the market for axles i kept reading about their issues in various forums, So i went with the Ford Racing/ g-force 1500 hp axles .. no issues, 20k miles.. good luck, hopefully dss will do right by you.

So what was the fix for this? I am having the same problem in my passenger side and it will not go in.

See my post 2 up. They sent me the correct stub shaft and I swapped it myself. I had to pay for it, but they gave me credit when I shipped the wrong one back

They gave you credit as in the price of the stub or just the shipping? How much are they?

Also I have one passenger and one driver side I can see the difference but the passenger one seems 0.01mm thicker

I think I got stuck with the freight. It was like $150 for the stub

Fighting the same thing as well.
3.73 to 3.31 gear swap with dss 2k axles.

I confirmed the bar in the middle of the diff for the 3.31 gears, as compares to see through for 3.73

Here is what my passenger axle into diff looks like. Maybe 1mm left to pound in.

My drivers side looks fine, in the other image.

I was pounding on both sides with a 4 lb hammer.
