Good move. You can't get the rear seat as an option even if you wanted to but there are kits that will let you install a back seat. I believe it's slightly under a grand to add later.

Just to confirm.... you are getting the R version, right (equipment group 920A)? Yes the R has no rear seat as Mike pointed out. It is a separate kit installed after delivery if you want it.

The electronics package as well as racing stripes and a painted black roof are additional options. However what defines the R is the 920A equipment group. The reason I bring this up is that dealers sometimes have no clue. I've heard stories where an advertised R wound up being a standard 350 due to confusion at the dealer.

Anyway, I hope for you a speedy build and delivery.

I would hope that a dealer wouldnt be removing a back seat then calling it an R.

I could see however, a dealer offering to install the back seat in a R as an upcharge.

I hope it was obvious that I wasn't suggesting that a dealer would do such a thing (intentionally). However, they have made the mistake in the past of misrepresenting a standard 350 as an R based upon a lack of knowledge and by misinterpreting the sticker.

Furthermore many a dealer have taken an order for an R without actually having an allocation for the 920A package. enzo101 is one of the latest victims.

Tell me you don't know what I'm talking about......

Just out of curiosity, what do you do? Army, air force?

I did know what you were referring to with dealers not knowing the difference in a "register" mark and an actual R package; however i was pointing out that the OP said without the backseat. This makes that GT350 automatically an R unless the dealer removes the back seat from a non R GT350.

COST To ADD Air?

Have an hour to place order for our R. Wanted to order with the 920A delete pkg. Really don't care to have the electronics pkg but need air for my bride who has severe allergies. My question is , if one were to pick up air from a donor how much trouble would it be to add back.

Thanks,Rex

REX, Good luck with your purchase,, and just getting an allocation for an R is great!

Lots of opinions on comfort & value, but would like to know if anyone that looks at mods has reviewed the components need to add AC to a base R?

Since the advent of Hybrid and All Electric cars, most components are now Electric. So adding an Electric AC may be much simpler job than the old crankshaft operated AC units?

If lucky enough to find an R Order Allocation, I prefer a Base R with zero options , 'in the white' to allow for the addition of track oriented performance upgrades. My 2016 Track Pack car is perfect for street driving. And for ocasional Track Day fun as experienced at the Ford Performance Track Attack. But when i select 'Evil Mode' and open the intoxicating exhaust, this car is difficult (for me) to drive on the street without the constant threat of going to jail.

So staying away from the street, an R makes reasonable sense for the basis of a track day car for me.

(have no interest in speculating on resale values or future market demand for this inquiry, that is a discussion that will go on Ad Infinitem with perpetual changes of individual situations, the economy, and politics of our world)

Consider myself very fortunate to be able to experience this amazing Modern version of the GT350!

Am very curious if anyone has looked at the components needed to add the Electric AC unit to a Base R? It might be a lot easier than the old days with modern 'plug & play' components?
