I think if your doing this as a private thing for guys on here only, they (Ford) wont be able to get crazy on you, if your going to advertise them for sale, that could be an issue. Of course I always say, if there going to be assholes to fans of there brand and car, then they should make the item so people can get what they want! :-)

Just my two cents, Chris

curious question: Are you some kind of graphic designer? I'm impressed on how your able to make all of this happen
Started up a memorabilia business this year and the first thing I started with was the coins. I'm also doing woodwork stuff for the military as well (I'm an active duty Master Chief in the Navy, 21 years in and still going strong)

^This. You are in fact promoting one of their products instead of trying to market your own product.
One would hope this to be true, but I spent 3 hours googling FORD TRADEMARK/COPYRIGHT infringement articles which is why I removed the FORD symbol. There was a lawsuit that FORD lost when they tried to sue a mustang club for using the word MUSTANG in their MUSTANG calendar. In short, FORD can't sue for using the word mustang, pony graphic, etc.....but using their LOGO is definitely off-limits.

coins appear to be designed in a sort of CAD program, engineer would be my guess
I wish I was an engineer......I have some web/graphic design experience from when I went to school.

Yeah, that's pretty nuts if Ford tried to sue for someone using the word MUSTANG. Although, if it was used in the same exact font and it was indistinguishable from the Ford version then it could have been a trade mark infringement.

I certainly would have thought that the running Pony and the "50 Years" used in the same exact configuration as Ford uses would be an infringement, as I'm betting Ford trade marked those symbols. The running Pony that Ford uses is an icon of the Mustang since day one.

Looks like you're correct on the 50th ANNIVERSARY too (google, I hate you).....damnit! Looks like that will need to come off as well.

Hmm, maybe I should just start from scratch on this coin and come up with something completely different?

I think the running Pony is also a licensed trademark. I ordered some Lloyd mats that had the running Pony on them, and there was a tag on the mats that said the Lloyd mats were a Ford licensed product, meaning Ford gave permission (and probably got money) to allow Lloyd to put the emblems on the mats.

Maybe you should try to contact Ford and ask them if it would be OK to use their icons, etc for a coin like this that is limited and not for profit ... maybe they will say go for it.

I'm interested, but count depends on final design. If its like the original with maybe just the wording around the border changed then I'm in for 6 Wimbledon White and 6 Kona Blue (12 total). If you end up removing the 50year pony logo or something drastic like that, then I'm probably only interested in 1 of each of those 2 colors.

Thanks
Ralph

I'll take 1 each of magnetic, rr, ruby red, co, depending on the design. If you aren't selling these on EBay, but limiting this to the site, I wouldn't think Ford would have an issue. It's free advertising.
