I have 305/35 Nitto NT05R's on PP1 19x9.5 wheels. They have been on for two years and about 5000 miles with no incident. Last fall I removed them and put black package wheels on for month and did not notice anything wrong with the Nottos. Today I came out to the garage and I had a Flat. When I took off the tire this is what I found. The tires were ground down to the cords about 3/4" wide from the edge. When I looked in the wheel well I can't find anything that looks like it is hitting the tire. With that much damage to the tire whatever is hitting the tire must be substantial. Any ideas what could have caused this? I know others have put these tires on these wheels with no problem plus they were ok for two years.

Looks like a pretty bad alignment problem. Either camber or toe-in or both.

Ya, what are your alignment specs?

With our cars its not entirely uncommon to cord on the inside edge first, I've seen a handful of posts where people had this issue and my own last two sets of street tires corded there earlier than I'd like. 2.7° camber front with ~zero front toe in my case. Doesn't look like you had any tread left anyway, so meh.

That's a toe out issue not camber. As others have said, get the alignment checked and adjusted

Alignment is the probable cause, though putting too wide of a tire for the wheel hurts, too.
