Hi guys!

So i dont see any videos out there or fourms on how to drain a 5.0 mustang, Ive heard if you lift the car from the front and remove petcock, it still won't fully come out!!

How exactly am I supposed flush it then? I was thinking if I stick a vaccum tube onto the radiator petcock, if that will just suck everything out, then use an Airlift 5500000 to Vaccum fill everything with coolant once Im done, but still need to add the coolant flush cleaner from ford with distilled water...

Never done this, have anyone ever done this before?? Please need help with this. Soo frustrating.

Having just done this, you just need to raise the front high enough to get good angle to drain the whole rad. Ramps work well for this. It also helps bleed the system (you'll still have to rev the engine to 3500rpm or so for 20 seconds a few times). Airlift will help but you'll still have to bleed it.

So do I literally raise the car and while it draining, turn on the car and for of can drain? Did yoi do this when the engine was cold or hot or somewhat warm? When you started?

No, drain it cold with the engine off. I'm just saying you need good angle to drain the whole rad. Also helps to remove the lower hose to get everything out that you can

Awesome! Did you ran water inside to flush it out? With the ford coolant flush ?

Nope. Yellow and orange mix just fine according to Ford, and my car was still new enough to not need flushing. You can though, just make sure you use distilled.

Also keep in mind your ratios, no matter what some distilled water will stay in the block, so a 50/50 will be slightly more watery. Better to buy concentrate and mix it yourself if you're gonna flush

What Im thinking to do is empty everything out , stick a vacuum to make sure nothing stays inside then add distilled water to empty out the old coolant, once it's water only ,then add the coolant flush since im at 49k miles, that way it can clean everything, then add distilled water till its topped off and drive the car arround that way that cleaner can get everywhere including the heater core.

Then come back and empty everything out and sdd distilled water again to flush it out and use the vaccum, then vaccum fill the entire engine with the Airlift 5500000 and hopes it sucks out any distilled water that didn't get vacuumed out, and then add the new 50/50 coolant 🙏🙏

Should work fine. Although in my opinion flushing an engine with aluminum block and heads is completely unnecessary with only 50k miles. Even at 100k I probably wouldn't bother. The coolant these cars come with lasts a long time and prevents any corrosion, which will be minimal to begin with on am aluminum engine.

I already bought the flush from ford tho for 25$ might as well use, ill flush it quickly then in that case🤣

Try evans waterless coolant if your that worried about corrosion.

Myself I just use 50/50 coolant ~ distilled water in everything for the last 30 years.
