just picked up and drove home (about 450 miles) the magnetic 2020 GT350.. tonight as I was looking it over, I noticed the area circled red in the picture looked like it was wet… I cleaned it up so I can keep an eye on it the next few times I take it out

im not a motor expert or mechanic…any insight? What’s that piece even called in case I need to take it into ford.

thanks in advance!

Looks like the harness for the cam position sensor to me. Did you wash the car or drive it in heavy rain? Water drips into the heat exhaust and lands in that general vicinity.

It's not a leak.....

appreciate the input, definitely helpful. there was some rain on the trip, just noticed that it was only surrounding the one cam position sensor and no where else. That’s what had me worried it was a leak.

thanks again, I’ll sleep better knowing that. And I’ll keep an eye on it just in case

What colour and/or smell was the fluid?

Not 100% sure on the liquid that was on the cover itself. But in the little squares/ribbed edges there appears to be just a very little yellow fluid

the dealership I bought it from had just serviced the car so maybe something during that?

If they had changed the oil it is possible that they spilled some onto the valve cover when filling the engine since the oil fill cap is immediately above the section you highlighted.

I once had a couple of drops drip out of the bottom of my funnel when removing it and they fell into the sensor area that you highlight. Was a pain to clean.

Also do yourself a favor and check the oil level on the dipstick. Make sure there are actually 10 quarts in the pan.
