I found this parts in the trunk of a 2016 Mustang that I just bought. Can anyone help me figure out maybe where it comes from?

Looks to be an LED light to me. Looks like a connector for a plug in the pic.

Did you check yours? Maybe you are missing one because of a broken clip and the previous owner put it in the trunk because it was hanging by the connector.

On a previous car I was very lightly rear ended and that's what happened.
