2015 GT Convertible with 3.31 gears and 6 speed manual. 8k miles. Since car was new, the clutch will slip and the torque management will kick in if you drop the clutch with traction control off with any significant rpm. Not able to hold the torque with these high rear end gears on a hard launch. Burning smell and everything. Now it is doing it sometimes even with launch control on. Has happened about 7 or 8 times going back to when it had just a few thousand miles. Doesn't slip during any other circumstances. Doesn't slip if full throttle in high gear.

What should I do? Was thinking that the computer would show where the torque management kicked in to save clutch and dealer can see this has been going on since new....ideas???

What you should do is take in to the service dept and let them try and determine what's going on. They are your best bet to determine the problem if there is one, but l would tend to agree it shouldn't be doing what you descibed but then again l don't know how you drive it (clutch dumps etc...).
l have the 3.31 gear car as well and haven't experienced this with mine so?

BTW, when they take it on a test drive you go with them. Always!

If it's the clutch you may want to take advantage of this:http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53847

what is significant rpm ? The clutch may have a defect but whether you can demonstrate that to a Ford Service Center and get a warranty repair is another question. If the clutch fails, some folks get a new clutch under warranty and some don't.

A failed clutch will get you stuck some where, perhaps on the freeway, so you might consider an aftermarket high torque clutch if dropping the clutch at significant rpm is something you like to do.

there was a long thread about this, although i think the OP saw he had the same indicators and it was low on power until he hit third gear (IIRC). I think it ended up being something wrong with his Bama tune and they corrected it.

Mine's at 8k miles and I'm having a similar issue. It happens in first gear (3.73 gear). I finally got around to trying 0-60 runs and after a couple of good launches the rpm will not climb above 4k rpm in first. Haven't revved past 2.5k rpm at launch and I apply about 50% throttle until 3.5-4k rpm before WOT. It just won't engage after 4k. No tc or stability lights flash when this happens. So I'm thinking the clutch is the issue.

Bright to dealer....they hooked up to computer and found no issue...got it home and what do you know...problem is totally gone....could it be that they updated the software and the issue was the traction management system not calibrated or set correctly....perfect now
