So I'm going back to stock and I'm looking to sell my SCT x4, I know this isn't the place to post sales and that's not what I'm doing, I have a question if anyone knows answer. I have unleashed tunes and Bama tunes on the device, when I sell it can the person buying use the tunes? Do I have to wipe it? It's 4 months old are people buying these abs how much can I get? Thanks any advice

As long as you put the stock tune back into the car and remove the aftermarket tune which goes back into the tuner then this unmarries the tuner from your car then somebody else should be able to use it yes.

Just to be clear; you mean remove the aftermarket tune from the car. The first time I read this I thought your were saying remove the aftermarket tune which goes back into the tuner [from the tuner]. Just want to be clear for the OP. If he paid for the tunes from Bama and Unleashed, he should be able to leave the tunes on the X4 and sell them along with the X4. Whether Bama or Unleashed will continue to tweak the tunes for the new owner, I don't know.

I thought you had to get a strategy code from the car, then the tune had to be written to work with that strategy code. And every car has a unique code.

You need to unmarry the device from your car. You do this by reinstalling your stock tune. Once unmarried anyone can use the device.

You will still have the aftermarket tunes on the device. However, my understanding is they are tied to the vehicles strategy code. Not everyone has a unique code, but there are a number of them - so if the person buying the device has the same strategy code as you, I think they should be able to use the tunes.

I mean that's my thought now because Adam doesn't do SCT and I just bought the ATM Fmic, and I here great things about the Cobb. I like the on the fly map switching, why? Have you had both and advise against it? I have been having a lot of computer issues lately with my SCT tune it seems, check engine light and the infotainment center acting up. If you know something please speak.
