Need some help / advise / tips on removing exhaust tips. I want to change out my chrome for some carbon fiber ones. Is the best way a hammer and screw driver and drive the tips offs?

Your factory tips are welded onto the muffler.
Your best friend is a sawzall.
Also, peek under there, the pipe that comes out of the muffler dips down a bit before coming straight.

I did this, and had a muffler shop weld on new tips.

My current tips are bolt on MBRP chrome. Got the bolt loose, but the tip is stuck on. Looks like a long day with the hammer screw driver tapping it off. .

Before using a hammer and screwdriver, I recommend that you try spraying PB Blaster or WD-40 around the slip fit joint and letting that soak in for a while. Next, try a rubber oil filter strap wrench around the tip and twist back and forth to loosen.

Good call on the oil filter strap. Didn't think of that. Or for that matter the PB Blaster.
