GPS Antenna - Ford (FR3Z-10E893-B)

I believe this is what I will need. I’ll be popping the dash and see if they disconnected this module

Your GPS antenna is on the roof.

Did you read the links that I posted? Your GPS antenna is the sharkfin on your roof. I would examine the coax cables that come from your antenna and are routed into your trunk. There is a splitter near your telemantics control module near your left tail light.

If I was a thief and wanted to steal a car, I would go into the trunk and either cut or disconnect the coaxial cable and/or completely disable the telemantics modem.

[modest tone] I know a little bit about this stuff. [/modest tone]

This is what your gps and 4G antenna look like when taken apar. I did this researching a similar issue a while back.

I don't think the thieves tore your dash apart to cover their tracks. Everything is much more accessible in your trunk.

When I disconnected my GPS/Data antenna doing a bunch of data related experiments, my nav system beamed itself to the ford world headquarters in Detroit Michigan. On the display, it showed the same icon that you describe as seeing.

I think your problem is tampering with the antenna and/or the telemantics. You don't need the telemantics system for nav to work. I was able to completely disable the data connectivity yet keep the nav system working.

Two leads come out of the shark fin antenna. One for data and one for GPS. They go to your trunk. They are then routed and split between your TCU and the dash mounted control module.

My money is on a simple disconnection of your GPS coaxial lead somewhere between the antenna and the dash mounted control module. The most likely place, I say again, is the trunk.

I said the exact same thing in a shorter version in reply #4 but yet everyone seems to want to go the hard route.

I’ll start with that and see what’s what. Check the trunk etc. Try to eliminate faults easy to hard. Honestly never use nav but when something isn’t working it bothers me
