TLDR:
Do you think there is any benefit to getting a MY2018 vs MY2017 non-R other than the availability of the convenience package and not being able to get avalanche gray (My first color of choice)? Maybe there are changes to body panel attachment to fix the increased gapping or anything like that?
Long version:
First of all I want to say thanks for everyone's participation on this forum. It's provided many hours of entertainment. I've spent a great deal of time reading everything I can and watching every video about this car and am excited to realize that if the planets align I could possibly have one in the garage in the next year.
I really like the avalanche gray/white stripe color combo. I’ve been watching autotrader and seeing a number of them popping up with the black stripes (black stripes are alright) for slightly under msrp prices. I also went to a local dealer and asked about a car (2017 ruby red) they had on their site. The car was the dealership owner’s car and due to a bug the car pops up in their inventory every once in a while. They have one 2018 on order in an oxford white /blue stripe setup. I’m just not a fan of the blue stripes. They did say I could put an order/deposit down (paying msrp) on one and if they get notified of a second allocation they’ll submit the order for me. I thought getting the oxford white and having aftermarket gray vinyl stripes put on would be a decent combo. My wife is only 5’2” while I’m 6’2” so I think having the convenience pack is probably a great choice to make it a comfortable ride for both of us. I don’t plan on tracking it at all so the deep buckets aren’t necessary.
So I’m swaying back and forth between a 2018/white/convenience/msrp and a 2017/gray/electronics/slightly under msrp deal. Any other perspectives I might not be thinking of?
P.S. If there are any GT350 owners in the Denver/Boulder cooridor area, I’d love to see a car first hand. I still have not had the pleasure. I don’t drive much these days.
