MY18 when do you expect delivery?

Its funny that when you compare the 2 you do notice straight away that it feels better.The gear changes are smooth and the clutch feels lighter.My 15 was notchy from 1st/2nd when cold and you could almost feel and hear the gears and bearings when slowly moving in traffic.I accepted the way the gearbox was and assumed it was"there all like that".
I'm guessing its the same gearbox in the 18,but i think they changed the flywheel/clutch??
I'm hoping that Parts that were in the 15 that were known to be failing have not been transferred over to the 18 but only time will tell.

That’s great news, the gearbox annoys me in the 16, very notchy.

They say the gearbox, clutch and flywheel have been updated so that could mean it’s all been replaced, I know they have also changed the gears in the box, so another thing to look forward to when my baby arrives

new ones have dual mass fly wheel like many diesels have to smooth out torque delivery and they've lengthened the ratios so 1st for example now goes to 30 rather than redlining at 25 or whatever it is. Think they've also altered the gating to make it smoother to engage.

car won't rev as fast now though due to heavier fly wheel and lengthened ratios.

Nope but after just scan reading it I can see it's going to be controversial with the auto guys

Had confirmation from my dealer that, even if the car were to arrive early, I can have it delayed until late September for the new 68 plates. So at minimum I'll be collecting it September 21st (day after pay day for me). At worst I think it'll be arriving January 2019.

Essentially it's just a review of the auto 'box. Brief references to LCD instruments and direct injection but no mention of Magneride or active exhaust.

When they arrive I shall attempt to blag a day with a demonstrator (arriving at the end of the month apparently) and I might well go for an auto just to try it (even though I'd buy a manual). Despite the review mentioning the word 'sluggish' it's clearly going to be much faster shifting than a manual, so for the sake of fairness and objectivity I'll give it a whirl.

well autoexpress are usually wrong anyway autocar.co.uk has a much more wide ranging review of probably the same car (looks like all journo's were shipped off to germany to test the new euro model)

It actually refers to the previous auto 6 box being ‘sluggish’, which depends what you are comparing it with. I find it perfectly suited to a big arsed V8 and quicker than manual changes anyway. Journalists comparisons in the case of the Mustang are usually biased to their perception of the competition; but if you want a V8 Mustang there isn’t any competition.

Selected my reg from a massive list send today by the dealer. I'm keeping my normal number on retention for a year or two. It's nice to show a local prefix, PE18.

What are your plans for the front plate? Have you given them an instruction not to drill the bumper?
