Yes I want to go boost so go ahead & get that out of the way lol... I just want to do this for now. Some of these I already had for a while and never installed.
2017 GT manual with 3:55 gears, 110,000 miles, but car is babied, here we go, scheduled for Nov 13th.

-PMAS cold air, VMP twin 69, ported cobra jet (new one)
-47 lb injectors (already on)
-Comp stage 3 NSR cams, MMR upgraded springs/retainers
-Ford Performance upgraded timing chain kit, Billet pro shop guides
-MMR billet rear cover/high rpm pulse ring
-MMR cooling head mod
-MMR crank sprocket
-ATI damper
-Kinetik crank saver stud kit
-GT 500 oil pan/pump + TSS GT 500 billet oil pump gear
-Vengeance stage 1 twin disc organic clutch, Ford slave cylinder, McCloud clutch line
-MGW X-spec shifter
-Steeda 1 piece aluminum driveshaft
-Velgen lightweight 20x10 wheels (24 lbs)
-Amsoil 5W-50
-Catless long tubes (already on)
-LRX with Lund tune 93 and E85

I want 515 wheel... ported cobra jet, cams, catless long tubes on e85, lightweight driveshaft/wheels; should be able to.

A lot of money and work for that HP figure. Probably more than just doing a supercharger or twin turbo/single kit. And any of those kits with the right supporting mods can do 700-800 wheel. If it's for HPDE, then NA is the way. If you want power for pulls, boost it.

Agreed. However I’ll only counter it’s over $12,000 for a TVS kit with injectors fuel system +/- 8 rib conversion and install and you’re expected to pay the money up front…. I already had some of these parts and my labor is around $2,000 so…

in my case when I add the TVS I’ll already have a good clutch driveshaft and damper springs cams etc

Yea I thought about that for a long time for sure. Definitely worth it. I’m biased towards a TVS and I plan on going with a VMP Odin this spring. I just needed to scratch the itch for now. That’s my personal circumstances haha

If boost is the final goal, then start with that as the first mod and go from there. Why detour?

because it’s over $12,000 (really closer to 15) for a kit with fore level 2 fuel system, injectors, 8 rib conversion, tune, and labor. And then you need a clutch and supporting mods. Thats why…. I can screenshot the cart if I need to. I looked into it. Beefcake racing, lethal, American muscle etc

I’m paying a decent price for parts and labor but no where near that right now and I can slap a TVS on later.

My thoughts. Buy once, cry once. Maybe still go through with the internals if you choose, but I always feel like opening the engine has its own inherit problems down the road.

the post was about n/a build. Not about you criticizing why I’d didn’t pay more money for a supercharger. Respectfully

Respectfully, I couldn't care less what you spend your money on. I hope it turns out exactly the way you want it. I'm giving you the opinion of someone who did this with Miatas back in the day. Got into a 5 figure build which was a ton for an NA Miata back then, wishing I had just turbocharged the damn thing. I have a friend who single turbocharged his 2019 GTPP and it's like a V8 GTR. He also makes 800whp and did it for under $15k with no internal engine mods.

@Twall when you're ready VMP Odin and don't look back. It's been rock solid and it's my daily driver. Just returned from a 500+ mile work trip. I do recommend the underhood Ice tank to avoid cutting the brace.

what brace are you referring to cutting? I dont recall cutting any braces to install my odin kit.

+1 on the odin kit though. I was one of the first to install it and it was pretty awesome and an easy install in my garage.

to OP, i understand your logic for the NA first then supercharger. However, with a TVS kit, injectors, etc. you're kind of wasting money on the cobra jet you've already purchased since itll be replaced, as well as injectors that youll replace. Thats where its confusing to me. Since you already have the cobra jet, i would personally consider a centri like procharger or ESS. my 2 cents.

I’ve had the 47 lb injectors for 2 years now. I bought the cobra jet in November of last year. I’ve read more than once Lund will not tune a boosted cobra jet and doesn’t recommend it either. And now that I’m doing cams I’d have no torque under 5000 rpm’s with an ESS cobra jet cams haha
