I have owned a couple of Mustangs in my 38 years on this planet...I have owned a Vibrant Red 1993 Cobra, and 2003 Terminator Vert. Then I got into Harleys for the past 8 years. Then I had my 2 boys in 2014 and 2015....the bikes had to go. I've always kept my eye on the Mustang market though. I saw the GT350 announcement for the 2015 model year and my interest was peaked! Then I saw an Avalanche Gray with Black Stripes GT350 at a car show...love at first sight. I sold my CVO Street Glide for $33K and I was on a mission...then I found out about ADM....or gouging! After many phone calls, and looking at different colors, I almost gave up after 9 solid months of searching. I set up alerts on Var Gurus, Autotrader, and Cars.com. Then it happened...I g Theot an alert the a gray GT350 was just listed in Morton IL. This is about 200 miles from me, so I called the dealer and my salesman Jimmy told me the they had deposits on it twice and both deals fell through...they didn't want to sell it to a location company or another dealer, so it's first come first serve. So two weeks ago, l do I've down. They let me test drive it and I was hooked! I found a small scratch from the windshield wiper arm kissing the edge of the hood, so they took car of that....By the time we made the final deal...I was $243 under MSRP. I asked then to make it an even number and they did! My good friend owns a towing company, so this past Saturday we drove down and finalized the deal and we brought her home!

Now I start my clay barring, buffing and ceramic coating before she's "ready". I think this is my forever car!

Sticker Price (to me) is my car was $59760....that was the price + fees...new plates, doc fee and taxes. That stuff is unavoidable.

I have a very similar GT350 story and like you, I gave up for nearly a years after having a few deals fall through over ADM. I'm glad now, as I would have ended up with a "texh pack" in 2016... very happy with my track/tech/comfort 2017. One notable difference.. this is my first Mustang

Great story!

Just curious, it's only 200 miles away, why tow it? Drive that thing!!

I drove 900 miles from the dealer I bought my car and came home with numerous chips... don't blame the guy for towing it.

I didn't drive it because there was a ton of road construction between Chicago and Peoria. My friend only charged me $300, so why not. And...all highway miles is a bad break in!

Mine is the same except sofa seats. Got mine 12.27.16. When ford announced the 2018's and most stock was locked for oil recall, and with the end of year I decide it was time to shop again. ADM's had driven me away from the 2016 and the scarcity of track packs. So I had to drive 400 miles and stay overnite but got it for MSRP and no dealer or doc charges. Just taxes and plate which dealer collected and then FedEx to my county/state tag office. Only hitch I had to get second driver, dealer offered to buy my plane ticket and pick me up at airport but I hate to fly. So finally found a friend to go along but I had to let him drive it back. So did have pay for hotel gas diner $300.00.
This the closest I'll get to owning a race car. Will have track it few times at least, because I'll never get see what it can do on street. The few times I've gotten on it while passing by the time I got around two cars I was doing +120 any it was still pulling like crazy. My country back roads have so much pitch on the edges that unless you run down middle at 120 you getting tossed around in cab terribly. Bothers me not the car ! I never play the radio, just open the pipes. Bought the shop manuals and the more I read the more impressed.

Congrats ! Nice deal, and cool story.
Correct on highway break in, around town, stop and go is actually
best for breaking her in. Sure they say just vary the speed and keep
shifting up and down if continuous highway driving, but sucks if long
distances. And no rock chips....just in time for driving weather, enjoy !

Hey, that's my car! Looks better in person, I get a ton of complements (especially when my wife drives).
I almost chipped the paint on my hood when I tried to pull the wiper blade up to clean the windshield. It does not clear the hood. I would consider Expel in critical areas prior to ceramic coating. Also, look into rock guards from ZL1 addons. They really help.
