Ok so I did a VERY quick paint job on this toggle. Since it is non functional I can try out difference techniques for painting. I also wanted to highlight the surface finish.

So the bottom is where the support material was, very apparent in black. A light sanding/cleaning will be required before painting to achieve the best finish. In order to protect the light bar from the paint I simply filled the cavity with low temp hot glue. Once cool you can take a sharp razor black and trim this glue to the surface for a nice crisp line on the light bar. I also covered the top portion of the toggle to leave it transparent! I think it turned out pretty cool!

AGAIN: This is with NO prep work before paint.

Tier 2 painted in silver with proper prep before paint.

Prep included a good cleaning with alcohol and a light scuffing with an abrasive pad.

Do the LED project through the middle of the plastic connector? If so, would be awesome if the recessed area on switch was left clear.

It does! See above posts. In these pictures I had yet to remove the hot glue protecting it.

It does! As long as you can effectively cover the recessed symbol it will illuminate at night. I will make two different tier 2 toggles. One with the light bar and one without for people who want a cleaner look and want to go with the illuminated symbol.
