Anything is possible! Question is wether or not it can be done cheap enough. I think in case it can not be done. Unless someone wants to completely redesign the center stack bezel in order to incorporate the appropriate mounting for the start button cover.

I plan to do the first complete aluminum prototype via machining as I have access to such processes. For a production run I agree that the cost would be crazy. Aluminum casting did come to mind and I would have to do a bit more research on the subject. I am trying to figure out the cheapest way to get 10-20 sets made. That would be for the people interested here. Long term goal is to have an aftermarket company take over the manufacturing and sale.

Zack, I'll have to be part of that first 10-20 sets made ! I mean as long as it doesnt cost me my first child lol

I really like your idea Zack - looks like you are really making progress. Personally, I don't mind the original buttons and think toggles would just get in my way.

That is what I am thinking of doing once I varify that the final revision works in car. I plan to get quotes for both machining and casting and from there I can decide if it is feasible to do a kickstarter campaign.

Just found this thread, and man now I am stoked. The models look really nice. I really hope you get to make a small batch or do a kick starter soon, I'd get in on that if the price is reasonable.
