My CFTP order was just pulled.

I just got a call from my dealership and I was informed that the Ford rep had emailed my inventory manager to inform him that my order was pulled for build. I was told I will have a VIN shortly and how long it will take from there, well, I will have to wait to see the window sticker.

This car is going to kick the crap out of Daytona this year!

I guess they do pull orders on Monday, then. My dealer told me last week that I should receive my VIN Monday (today). Hopefully I'll hear from him soon!

Tom; If memory serves me correct didn't you order your car with the CFTP and the PAINTED STRIPES???? I don't know why but I thought they might do the Golden Ticket cars last because they would take alot longer especially with those Painted Stripes. Hope to hear back from you. Congrats on getting it to this point so fast!!!!!!

I'm not sure exactly which day the order was pulled. However what I was told was that the news came from the rep in the form of an email to my dealerships inventory manager.

Yes, CFTP and painted on stripes. The decision comes from Dearborn when each CFTP order gets pulled. I have no idea what the selection criteria is, but I was assured by my dealer and friend who is familiar with the process at Ford that that a small committee within Ford is responsible for CFTP build selection.

Why me? I don't know. 1) I hope it had something to do with the amount of money I have spent buying Shelby's. 2) I would like to think that I have been very helpful around here and have been a good Ford ambassador (yes, I know, I have my moments). 3) I have been a very loyal Ford customer and ever since I started buying new cars, I have never bought anything else except Fords. I am part of a Ford family. My wife is from Detroit and everyone on that side bleeds Ford. Many have been Ford employees. 4) I track my car. I have an event in mind specifically for the 500, the Daytona Rolex course in early December. You all have seen what the R can do, wait till you see the 500. My last showing at Daytona last year brought a lot of curious people by who wanted to know more about the GT350R. Many got rides and a first hand exposure to a world class track car on a world class course. I plan to do the same this year.

So who knows....

How is Ford able to figure out who you are and your involvement with Shelbys, social media, etc.? I saw the guy from Drag Times had his order pulled and seemed to insinuate that it was because of his status as an influencer on social media.

Big brothers always watching and people with a larger and more influential online presence are a marketing asset to Ford.

Why pay for expensive marketing campaigns when you can get Tom out flying around Daytona for free?

The guy behind me is also an influencer and ive been told the regional rep wants my car built and out of the way so this youtube racer can get his.

Fine by me!! I am just a normal dude looking to buy a fast car that I feel is going to perform better then anything else in my price point while i also delivering a look that i love.

Congrats Tom and hope that you get an early chassis build and early VIN and get lumped in with some of the many Canadian CFTP cars that already have VIN's.

If history repeats itself with respect to early built 2 seat Mustangs such as the R models many of the early built 2 seat GT500's will be sent to the Canada and hope that your car it right in that mix as well!

Very interested in watching your timelines and process from here on out. BTW, there is an Allocation Manager in Detroit who is pulling the strings. Undoubtedly has input from other interested Ford sources.
