Always a good idea to use wire ferrules at the end of big gauge wires for great connection. :)

I literally cut the connector off the wire. Do not cut the wire in any way though. It is short and will not reach then.
Ok, that's why I asked, and what I figured.

Knowing myself, I'd cut the wire and connector off and be stuck with a wire than can't reach and then be stuck rewiring it.

Started the amp rack. Measuring, measuring, welding, measuring, grinding, engineering, fitting.

I post some pics up tonight up it. It will be underneath the back deck and will be fairly discreet. It will house the JL Audio 1000/1v2 and 800/8v2.

So I didn't get as far as I thought I would. I got the rack built and I know what I want to do with it. I should have it hung tomorrow though enough to show you guys what I am doing.

Made it out of 1/4" square tube and some 1/8" flat bar. I will get it painted and hung tomorrow and get some pics.

Here are the amps in maintenance mode.

Here they are in normal mode. Speakers were removed from the back deck so they can cool through those holes.

Thanks. I will epoxy some thin board to the front of it and carpet it like the rest of the trunk. You will never know it is there except for the pins holding it up. They will be black though so it will really be hard to see anything.

The two tens on each side of the trunk are next. Fiberglass enclosures and matching carpet with grills.

I am trying to not lose hardly any trunk space with this. I have golf clubs.

Considering I have an entire air ride system, two 10s and two amps with all the wiring, I will be happy to fit the clubs as well with the back seats up.

Very impressive. I can always appreciate a good system with a small footprint, I always take the whole damn trunk  I definitely wish I could have done more of my build with metal rather than all wood. Looks cleaner and takes up less space.

Are you going to be running a DSP?
Yes. A TwK-88. I am hoping to put it where the current amp/DSP is at.

I used to do the same. Little older now and not into large systems. I have had some pretty extreme setups over the years.

Nice rack...
