A good video....

Well Nick lets his dogs crawl all over the inside of his cars...so I don't really take anything he says about interior durability as gospel.

It's like every other material in a car - it has specific needs and rules. Would you put windex on your paint? No, you wouldn't.

I wash my hands before I drive the car but don't wear gloves and my wheel stayed nice - 6k miles and it looked like it could use a cleaning - you could clearly see where I usually keep my hands, as the pile (if that's what you call it) seemed shorter and less-soft. I cleaning with this cleaner and it looked new again.

As for seats - don't get in the car with your grease-monkey garage pants and there's no issue. A regular cleaning makes it look new. I don't have many miles on the seats in my R but I've had other cars with this seat material for over 100k miles and they looked new after a quick wipe down.

He craps on the product, BUT says he has a bean bag from 2001 made out of the stuff that is holding up quite well. WTF?????

In fact, I‘m still not decided to take Alcantara.
I love the look, but I‘m aware of the detail work.

I just want to know if the Alcantara seats are heated/cooled :)

My father in law just picked up a Hellcat with Alcantara. The comfort and overall feel are much improved over leather. The best part is that it offers much better grip on your ass. lol

A lot less sliding around.

I love the Alcantara in my GT350 seats. It's a bit more of a pain to keep clean on the steering wheel, but on the seats it's great. And the heated seat works great with Alcantara. The cooling isn't the greatest, but I think that's more about Ford's system for seat cooling rather than the Alcantara itself.

Back to the OP question Yes you can get heated and cool seats with carbon fiber. Per the Ford build and price page. as for the Alcantara I had it in a 2010 SHO I didn't like it that much. It looked lose and saggy after 40K miles. Its to bad you can't get good leather in a car any more. But what do you expect for only $50K

Every time I try to sit in a vehicle with these seat inserts I have to 'place' myself into the seat. You can't slide in and out at all. Even regular cloth seats allow for some 'sliding' effect. They annoy me just one time getting in and out, so I would go never get them for a daily driver.
