No, we didn't. That was more like what I was expecting above. BTW, I'm laughing 'cause I lived in Hillsdale for a while and looks like it was right next to one of my old watering holes (Orange Lantern - exit off 17). I think this is the parking lot just across going to the Mall.
You know, across from the location on the map where it was supposed to be, there was a HUGE open lot (looked like a park and ride) with NOTHING in it. Google it. That lot was the first place I went and there was nothing in there...we could have run the cars there. (1989 Annapolis Exchange, Annapolis, MD 21401)

They should have held it there. Im not sure why we didn't get to have something like this where all the other locations did. Why did we get you know what while everyone else got a nice run in the cars.

BTW, that GT on the course just sounds MEAN.

Man we didn't get anything like this today at Annapolis. Why does the GT not take the same path as the EB around that one corner. It goes wider then back onto the path.
That was the course they had set up for the "hot lap" in the GT. Doesn't look like much in the video, but sitting in the front seat you appreciate the acceleration, braking, and handling of this car.

I'll hear the GT soon enough. The Ford folks were nice enough but that whole setup was lame. I've been to other car intros that were amazing. Audi truly does it right - they had a full blown auto-x course at FedEx field in the parking lot for the A6/A7 and way back in the Dark Ages, I actually got to go play at Summit Point in WV for half a day with their new A4 (B8 platform intro). Best part was hanging around afterwards - some looking pathetic/selective groveling got me a ride for a couple of hot laps in a R8 with a pro driver at the wheel. It was an excellent reminder that what I think passes for "good driving" on a track is just meager at best compared to the pros :headbonk:

Lot G, between Bloomingdale's and L.L. Bean.

Took a little bit of driving around to find, but was worth it.

I didn't know Ruby Red was specifically being marketed towards women...I guess my feminine side is yearning for it. Looked great, better than Magnetic in the bright sunlight.

Were they doing just test drives around the mall or did they actually have a course set up?

around the mall, no course. Although that meant getting onto main roads. Don't get me wrong the drive was short, but good enough for a first impression and the rep took plenty of time to talk about the car and let me f with the settings. No GT when I went, but they were all drives (no ride along) which was nice.

Mustang looks sooooo much better inside and out in person. Pics dont do it justice, waaaay nicer interior than the S197

Somewhat Bummed Out

I went to the Tyson's Corner Mustang event. I liked everything about the new mustang...the design, the refined interior and the technology inside. However, the drive was extremely SHORT. I don't think it was enough for an impression. I was disappointed.

Compared to my 05' V6, the ecoboost was really quiet even when I gunned it from stop. The 05 is the only car I've ever had so I'm not going to be used to another car. I really need to drive this longer to be satisfied. The brake sensitivity was SUPER sensitive compared to my 05. It made me feel like a 16 year old all over again. That was bothering me the whole time. I couldn't really focus on anything else.

While I was inspecting the interior, dark saddle matches really well with guard. I saw the soft touch was on the door even though it wasn't premier trim. It wasn't color matching though, just black. I'm confused about this, what's the difference between the premier trim and standard leather? I actually really like dark saddle. But I also really like the redline they had on the black mustang.

I'm a young guy who's only had one car the 05 V6. I am in the market for a new car but nervous about change and adjustment. So used to what I have. The nose feels longer and wider. All the buttons in the car were overwhelming and overkill even though i like technology. I think I have been looking at these forums too much because the observations about the driving and sound were disappointments. I have to agree. It was too quiet. I wouldn't be able to tell how fast I get up to speed.

Too bad, I don't have the money for a GT. Too bad, the V6 doesn't get any of the nice premium stuff.

I thought it sounded decent if you took it up in the revs. Def agree the test drive was short but I nailed 5k a couple times on the adjacent roads and there was some nice sound. Idle and low RPMs its very quiet, IMO I prefer it that way.

big fan of the toggles and switchgear after sitting in it. They are bigger and in much better reach than any pics suggest

Yeah I liked everything about the interior. I guess the negativity coming from me is just because I didn't get to drive it longer and the time getting used to it.

I had the pleasure of attending this event today, and yes this event has very little details which works for me. I arrived around 11:30 expected to wait forever in line for my turn as I had to for the ECOBOOST event. To my surprise there was not one single person in line. I signed in, and hopped into a black S550. Looked down at the shifter and to my disappointment it was an automatic. Now you will ride with a event staff, mine was pretty cool, and seemed very knowledgeable on the new S550 platform. He explained to me that we would be taking a small loop around the mall ( Tysons Corner ), and off we went. As we got to a straight area he told me to just gun it, and I complied. This being an ecoboost mustang I was blown away by the acceleration. ( Yes, I am use to a small 4-banger as I drive a focus.) The ecoboost is a likely choice for those who aren't all caught up in the V8 craze. As this little more packs a glorious punch of childish excitement. All in all the event was very fun, although a little too short, but still a chance to drive the ecoboost if you are unsure.

I dont know if its because I dont currently own a mustang but that EB felt VERY quick. I have been driving modern V6's in wait of my order and I have spent over a week with the S197 3.7 and this EB feels quicker. Love the boost!
